I'm waiting for the inevitable Kennedy emails thread. I'm sure after that speech, republicans will try to discredit him.

Good luck with that, republitards

The problem is not that he looks like Archie. The problem is that the Dems have decided to push an aristocrat as the answer to trump’s populist shtick. That seems odd, given the theme of the last election.

Seriously. It reflects a complete lack of self-awareness on the part of the DNC.

That the response to the SoTU is a meaningless as the SoTU? I think they nailed it on betting on his future significance.

I’m sorry, your link shows some responders becoming president, some becoming candidates for president, some not. So I’m confused what you are implying?

My point is: the dems are presumably going to have to move past the septuagenarian old guard in 2020, so they need to be giving possible future candidates some time in the spotlight. They chose to give some precious exposure to an aristocrat.

I think it was sometime after the speech (I was half asleep) when I caught an ad for what I thought was a dangerous new political movement. It featured a southern-accented guy talking about lawlessness in this country, accompanied by clips of the America Flag and whatnot. It ended with a red cap with white lettering that stated "The First Purge" and a subtitle "July 4".

I found it to be rather alarming because I had no evidence it was actually an ad for a movie. And it certainly fit The PDJT's narrative.

Doesn't matter. He could have hit a home run last night with 100% of viewers. He will undo all of that positivity with a tweet.
Well, undo 60% because he could **** on the dining room table of the 40% and they still give him a positive favorability rating.

Didn't watch. I enjoy braying braggarts less than when donkeys have a go. Of the quotes and snippets I've heard so far, I was impressed by this statement:

"the righteous mission to make America great again."

Of that in particular, and all the rest I've heard, Aldous Huxley and George Orwell would be so proud. As would Goebbels. Jesus and George Washington, not so much.

There's also the fact that teleprompter Trump =\= Trump. They can pump him full of valium and have him read a script for an hour and half but that's not going to change who he actually is.

Call me when he goes a few years actually trying to unite the country, or at least without attacking people based entirely on race, ethnicity, or religion. Since he apparently did exactly this in the SOTU, he's at day 1 starting today.

I doubt he'll make it to day 10. And I mean "ever".

Kennedy isn't even a potential candidate for 2020, the way he's behaving now. And since he hasn't even hit 40 yet, that's fine. But yeah, I can remember exactly two SOTU responses - Rubio for his awkward water bottle grab, and Bachmann for seeming to stare off into the distance - and both were caused by bad staging.

Aside from Droolgate, I'm not sure if the rest of the "optics" of the Democratic rebuttal speech were planned or not.
Are we seeing some possible e_ection potential?

What's the difference between that and a NYC real estate tycoon who has spent his live dropping turds on the little guy convincing middle-america that he's actually FOR them?

Biggest con job ever.

Shortly after Trump began his campaigning for 2020, the day after Inauguration, he announced "Keep America Great" as his campaign slogan. It was quickly pointed out that that was a tagline from one of the movies in the Purge franchise.
The filmmakers are now mocking Trump, since the Purge in the films is used by the wealthy to exterminate the poor and hold on to their power.

Okay, I didn't watch it in the end.

Could everyone give it scores out of ten, and maybe one bit you liked best and one bit you liked least?

Also, putting a guy out there named after JFK's dad was a weird response. Was that really the best they could do?

I mean, I didn't watch that either, but it is weird isn't it? And having him stand in front of a car with the bonnet up? What was that supposed to signify if anything?

Nice little viral video:

That's where you are, pseudo-skeptics. Your company. Although they are manipulated by a nice looking unknown stranger while you get your daily dose of brainwashing from the most transparent paid liars in world history. Willingly.
As you continuously foist abject crap, and scold members on their skepticism, perhaps you could interject the occasional sheeple to complete the rhetorical presentation.

Really?
With trump in office, your concern is optics?

The concern is; are the Dems preparing for 2020 as best they can?

If the Dems lose, I don't know if I can handle a bunch of postmortem "2020 hindsight" gags.
