Notice how few people are bringing up the NY FBI office that leaked stuff to Giuliani. Wasn't there actual evidence they were out to get Clinton?
Ah, I assumed that when you said "some might say" you either meant "I would say" or "rational people might say", rather than "some random, ignorant loony might say".
In reality you'd have competing 'deep states'.
Dude, it's not incumbent on me to explain that my post pertains to the subject of the thread. Especially given that dudalb's post that I challenged was a direct reply to the OP. This is why I asked you to be more attentive.Dude, you said:
Yes dudalb was talking about the deep state claims but your post is a much broader claim, especially the highlighted, which I addressed. If what you meant was directed only at the claim of "deep state", then your post was poorly-composed.

And your point is?Only if they are idiots.
...and ignorant.
Have you been paying attention to US politics lately? Being ignorant and loony is not a disqualifier for office and quite a few have been voted in. They have power and influence, so it makes no sense to dismiss them.

We were talking about whether or not the left wing in mainstream American politics has now skewed as far to the left as the right wing has skewed to the right.
I suppose one crucial aspect in that assessment is where one chooses to place the centre for this exercise. Should it be the centre of contemporary US politics, the centre of US politics at some point in the past, the centre of politics in the contemporary developed world.......and so on.
Well, I'm placing it between literal Communists and literal Nazis. There are literal Nazis in mainstream US politics today. The most convincing case I've heard for literal Communists is that some ignorant idiots might say that Bernie Sanders was one.
Even here in the UK where Jeremy Corbyn has yanked the Labour Party firmly to the left and where Momentum is the muscle, this is still 70's style socialism which is still one or two removes from actual communism.

Whatever. I'm glad to use any metric you prefer to demonstrate the falseness of the false equivalency, e.g. deaths caused by political extremists, except we risk going off topic.

I am perfectly aware of what we are talking about. For whatever reason some people need to be reminded that not everyone shares their perspective.
