Does anyone have time stamps? Was their ULBC (updated lying blathering and covering) running at just before the top of the news hour?
...and if that happens, then that's why the Democrats will lose again, and again.
Trading something you don't want to do (fund the wall) for something we both want to (renew DACA) doesn't really sound like a smart trade to me. That sounds like Mrs Don saying we can go out for a meal (something we both want to do) if I do the washing up. That not a good deal because she gets everything she wants. Much better if I trade doing the washing up for something like her doing the ironing.
The Trump base don't want DACA.
In April of 2017, 73% of Trump voters said "Dreamers" should be allowed to stay in the United States and become legal residents, with 48% saying they should be able to become citizens, according to a Morning Consult poll.
Immigration is currently around 1.38 million per year.
85% of Americans think it should be less than 1 million per year.
35% of Americans think it should be less than 250,000 per year. That plurality of opinion crosses racial and party lines.

I suppose Trump is authentic, in that he comes across as having no redeeming features, and indeed that is the case.
I would say that "authenticity" generally involves some self-awareness, and a recognition of the difference between truth and falsehood. But then I also don't think that the bible is an interesting window into the minds and culture of its writers.
Can you define what you mean by "Trump base"? Sounds like we're potentially heading into No True Scotsman territory.
The people who aren't simply GOP voters. The people who will stick up for Trump no matter what.
The people who aren't simply GOP voters. The people who will stick up for Trump no matter what.
And how do you determine who does or does no belong to this group, and what they do or do not think about DACA?
I thought that was 80% of GOP supporters and therefore around 35% of the electorate
Even if all the non-Trump supporters were DACA enthusiasts, that still leaves more than 50% of Trump supporters if 73% of Trump voters want DACA to remain.
Even though they are unremittingly racist, something about the Dreamers strikes a chord. Then again it's not unusual for Trump supporters (or indeed the great man himself) to be able to hold two mutually incompatible opinions at the same time.![]()
Not easily. I'm not sure if anyone's done any measuring. I'm just saying that when we're talking about the "Trump base", we're not talking about every single voter who voted for Trump in 2016. We agree on this, right?
I thought we were talking about whether or not this group that you can't identify unanimously held a particular opinion on a particular subject.
We can talk about that if you want. Or we can speak generally, which is what one normally does when referring to "the Trump base". Do you think they are all of one mind, or do you think they generally agree, but not always?
I don't really know what is meant by "the Trump base" and, it appears, neither do you.
