Do we live in a Patriarchy? What is that?

Try this on for size. Women get promoted more slowly throughout their careers, and experience lower raises... regardless of whether they have children or not.

Not buying it. I've seen the silly statistics and also the silly "facts" about women having to work until April of the next year to earn as much as a man for the same amount of work.

As an employer, I'd love to hire some of these magical creatures who do the same quality and quantity of work for som much less. The problem is, so would all of my competitors.

Maybe we can go back on topic.

I was hoping for an answer to this. I guess I won't get one? If someone can't clarify these distinctions in their definition, this leads me to further believe that "men are politicians" is really just the bait-and-switch I thought it was due to almost every feminist interaction in the past: The definition with more baggage hiding underneath the surface is that men are privileged overall and that this top-down power is transferred to the average man, at the expense of women.

Of course you won't get an answer. You dared question the Truth! All you'll get for that is snide leading questions in an attempt to steer you into a trap where you can be exposed for the vile misogynist we knew you were all along!

In this thread...

People who think that some systemic bias that disadvantages women exists: mix of men and women.
People who think there is no bias at all: all men.

People who think those biased disadvantages should get some attention and adjustment: mix of men and women.
People who think those women are just stirring up trouble and should shut up about it: all men.

Interesting. Anecdotal... but not unique.

If I wanted to be a jerk I'd say that this just shows that men are smarter.

But instead I'll just point out that you're talking nonsense and that you don't know who's a man and who's not. And even if you were correct, it'd mean diddly squat.

I disagree with your calling it interesting.

Ya. Interesting would be if there were fewer people who believed the dogma since we've all been taught this since we were little (unless maybe you're much much older)
