Cont: The Trump Presidency Part IV

As was trying to pull one over on the citizens calling it "strong language" and bypassing the bigotry of the comments.
What continues to offend, if not surprise, me is the dodging done by so many of those who attended the meeting. I heard someone who I think is supposed to be a National Security adviser or something, who "didn't recall" what was said. When the issue of Norway was broached, she said she couldn't say the comment might be racist because she did not know anything about the racial makeup of Norwegians.

All right, let's presume that people in power are damned liars, but I keep finding myself coming back to the old refrain, how stupid is too stupid? I modestly suggest that while it is simply bad to be a damned liar, it should be grounds for dismissal for anyone to be so stupid, inattentive and disengaged as to have been at a meeting with the President about a very important matter, and not to remember whether or not utterances of an unprecedented nature were made. What the hell was she doing? Knitting? Napping? Playing Candy Crush on her phone? A plain old lie is not good, but at least it's routine. This is a level of stupidity and incompetence that ought to disqualify her from any important government post.

Maybe they should get a second opinion.

Considering that Trump was "officially" declared the most for president ever I would not believe a word of it unless it subject to a rigourous verification process.

Then again even if a doctor, acting in good faith, concluded that his mental faculties were not impaired it wouldn't be the first time someone with dementia got a clean bill of health.

My recently deceased grandmother, who was ultimately so handicapped by their dementia that they would forget that you visited them within a couple of minutes, was originally deemed healthy after a test. She had to undergo more tests for her impairment to be recognized.

Of course it's possible he doesn't have dementia. Maybe, taking into account his age, hes just stupid yet so narcissistic, to a delusional level, that he doesn't recognize his own shortcomings and limits.

There's clearly something wrong with Trump's mind as evident by his constant self-defeating and counter productive lying.

We need to keep on getting opinions until we get the right one.

The world sees that we have a nutcase president and now they see a nutcase doctor. His cognition rating is exceptionally high. That might mean that his brain works better than most of the brains in Belgium or wherever.

Outrageous. This evaluation cannot stand.

The Montreal Cognitive Exam is really basic. If he got less than 30/30 he should have been removed from office immediately via the 25th amendment.

Thirty items assessing multiple cognitive domains are contained in the MoCA: short-term memory (5 points); visuospatial abilities via clock drawing (3 points), and a cube copy task (1 point); executive functioning via an adaptation of Trail Making Test Part B (1 point), phonemic fluency (1 point), and verbal abstraction (2 points); attention, concentration, and working memory via target detection (1 point), serial subtraction (3 points), digits forward (1 point), and digits backward (1 point); language via confrontation naming with low-familiarity animals (3 points), and repetition of complex sentences (2 points); and orientation to time and place (6 points) (Nasreddine et al., 2005).

It's like bragging about having a Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) of 15. His major problem seems to be that he's completely disinterested in anything that doesn't have to do with himself and since he's the president of a country consisting of over 323 million people, that's going to be a continual problem.

The best summary of the results has been commented by numerous independent people, so it's impossible to track it back to "who thunk it first". In brief,

"So it's not Alzheimer's? He's just a psychopath."

The Benghazi Investigation approach...

I'm perfectly fine with him keeping MLK Jr's name out of his mouth, since he advocates everything the Civil Rights Movement has fought against for well over a century.

Someone on twitter joked that if MLK was still around Trump would have some sort of demeaning nickname for what would surely be one of his opponents. "Li'l Marty" or something stupid like that.

I was waiting for the doctor to name the damn test when I gave up, couldn't stand the absurd attention the press conference was getting as if this physical was the least bit meaningful. The press asked question after question about stuff that didn't matter one bit. We can see he's overweight.

But finally the test name, thanks. The doctor really talked it up as extensive blah blah blah. It's a one page test a 12 yr old could pass.

MOCA-Montreal Cognitive Assessment Test Form See the second page, that's the whole test. You'd have to be severely disabled not to get 30 on that test. And of course it has nothing to do with assessing his personality disorder.

That was after they had dropped their "Fair and Balanced" standard.

So it's okay.

The TV's at my work is constantly on Fox News. Tonight, Hannity was touting their station as fair and balanced while most of the other media is just out to trash Trump.

To the able-minded, some of the questions might look overly simple or silly. It asks, for instance, for the patient to identify the names of a few animals, and correctly state their date and location. It has basic tasks like counting backwards by seven, and drawing a clock that reads 10 past 11. These are some of the basic mental processes that tragically slip away from people with dementia. (See the whole test here).

It’s a pretty useful tool to quickly assess dementia symptoms, or to assess cognitive functioning after a stroke. A 2007 study in the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry found the Montreal Cognitive Assessment correctly detected 94 percent of patients with mild cognitive impairment, performing better than another test of cognitive wherewithal. It’s been shown to be helpful in identifying symptoms in Parkinson’s patients, and in those who have suffered a stroke.

Not severely disabled. It picks up mild cognitive impairment.

That really makes the notion of mild cognitive impairment scary.
