Merged The Roy Moore Batcrap Crazy Remark Thread/Roy Moore Is Done

No wonder Moore's lawsuit was tossed out of court when he employed "experts" like this one: (from the WAPO article on Jones's certification and Moore's lawsuit)

The experts came to the case with baggage of their own. James Condit Jr., one of the election analysts who signed an affidavit on behalf of Moore’s campaign, has written and spoken about “Zionist” control of world politics, and alleged a Jewish role in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

“The terror attacks of 9/11 were done by, in effect, Israeli agents,” Condit said in a 2016 radio broadcast. “These Israeli/Zionist/Jewish agents that are in on this crime syndicate — they did 9/11, covered it up with their five TV networks, which are run by the same crowd.”

Nice going, Roy,nice going.

Well, Dudalb, you certainly choose a good title for this thread... and it keeps on giving.

That spokeslady of his on CNN this morning was grueling and painful to listen to. By the way, she sure said "By the way..." a lot.

Nice going, Roy,nice going.

But... his accountant is a Jew. It balances out.

I wasn't sure if that worked with US English...
It does easily!!! Besides I read loads of British and American mysteries and certifiable is found from time to time in both. Which reminds me of the title of a British mystery I picked up because of it's title about 2 months ago.
It is a Mrs. Jeffries mystery by Emily Brightwell titled Mrs. Jeffries Pleads the Fifth..........

In my knowledge the fifth would be the American 5th Amendment - which has no application in GB as far as I am aware!!!!

I had not realized that Moore has yet to concede defeat in his 2006 and 2010 gubernatorial primary races.

Scary that such a blatantly crazy person can come so close to becoming a US Senator.

Wikipedia's "Roy Moore" article suggests no such thing, even including the term "his concession speech" in 2006. Have you a source that is explicit in this regard?

From this blog, linked in that article:
Back on the 24th, I explained the very limited options open to Moore. Nothing in this lawsuit changes this, other than showing how weak a claim Moore is making. It seems to boil down to: I should have won under the exit poll and all of this voting by African Americans must show fraud.

My bold. He's misspelled the N-word there.

You are correct about the last part

Moore last minute lawsuit was dimissed by the judge "with prejudice"..which is a legal term for "Don't bother the court with this B.S. lawsuit again".

Making him surely one of the few men in history to have been blocked by both civil court and the food court.

By the way, the "By the way" lady is back on CNN. She is despicable.

Just saw her interview with Anderson Cooper from three weeks ago. Not only did she not answer any questions, going off on tangents, she had this gem- "When you go to rent a book, you have to show a DL and birth certificate." I honestly wonder if she's ever been in a library.

^^^^^^^^

But most of us know what it means, as we do get one or two US TV shows here.

AFAIK you can effectively do the same thing in the UK. It's just called not answering.

Not effectively the same thing.

Anyone can just not answer in U.S. courts too, but if they do it without the protection of the Fifth Amendment then they are setting themselves up for Contempt of Court penalties, which means they might land in jail until they do answer.

The 5th protects them from that.

This is what can make immunity from prosecution a powerful tool for the prosecutors, it removes that protection from a witness.

Something Trump might learn if he tries any preemptive pardoning.

Basically is the same thing. It's a common law right to refuse to answer questions, whether pre or during the trial. The Right to Silence.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_to_silence_in_England_and_Wales

"The right to silence in England and Wales is the protection given to a person during criminal proceedings from adverse consequences of remaining silent. It is sometimes referred to as the privilege against self-incrimination."
