New York Shootings in Mall?

Ouch, that ain't that far from me. A few of my coworkers, who have today off, live on that side of the Hudson and I'd expect frequent that mall particularly this time of year.

I thought this was a joke:
My wife is in the Justice store. She just called me and told me 2 people got shot at the American Eagle store.
But the reports are that the shots were fired in the American Eagle store.:eye-poppi

Well then, at least it was a good guy with a gun that shot people then.
:D

I was in a store once, something like a K-Mart, I don't recall the store. A man was standing by the gun counter holding his bleeding hand. He was embarrassed, said he was a cop. He'd accidentally shot himself in the hand while looking at a gun he wanted to buy.

He loaded a gun he wanted to buy ? Or was the gun loaded already ? :eye-poppi

This reminds me of the video of the cop giving a gun safety class and literally shooting himself in the leg. You could see his embarrassment through the pain.

But seriously, how the hell does this happen. I can understand cutting yourself when looking at a knife, but you have to actually load and cock a gun before it can shoot.

Load yes, but not necessarily cock. Depends on the mechanism requirement for firing.

It's easy to be safe with a gun. But it's also easy to be dangerous with one. That's why this gunsmith's kid cries out,

DISARM THE STUPID BRUTES!

A long time ago I clerked in a department store sporting goods department that sold rifles and shotguns. The routine when asked to handle a weapon was check ID (FOID+other photo ID), safety check and clear firearm, then hand it over for inspection. You stood there with the customer; there was no loading of the firearm as there was no reason. Even if a store had a range such a circumstance would violate all safety protocol.

This is one of the dumbest things I ever heard.

Oh please watch the video of the police detective in the elevator bringing home a pizza who manages to shoot himself in the leg. Go Glockleg, safety is for suckers!

There's dumb, then there's despicably stupid. And people besides the cop should have lost their jobs

Why it was just a basic fidget response, guns now go off all the time for that reason. Just the price you pay in accidental shootings to shave off that fraction of a second when it is highly unlikely to matter.
