Have you read the stories of Weinstein, Rose, Ailes Louis CK, Kevin Spacey, O'Reilly and Moore? Do you think they are remotely similar to the stories we've heard about Franken?

Like the lack of dynamics in describing some reserved judgement and discussion of nuance as "steamrolling" from one side. Which is not to say that this "side" was entirely free of indefensible remarks, but that just even further makes my point.

ETA: the futility of trying to make some point about tribalism by reducing the discussion to a series of one-dimensional caricatures is beyond comprehension.

Then you're absolutely clueless. Conyers is a Democratic liberal congressman and the evidence against him is pretty damn compelling that he is guilty of sexual harassment. In contrast, the evidence I've seen against Al Franken is not.

Is this what it takes today is a he said, she said story about a kiss during a rehearsal 2 years before he ran for office?

What am I saying is if this exact to the letter situation happened with a Republican a lot of roles in this thread would be reversed and I don't know who the people (on both sides) pretending otherwise think they are fooling.

The actual standard for what the public should consider "fair evidence" for sexual harassment is... a discussion I hope we can have one day but we aren't there right now.

It's not my reading skills. It's you believing you are being neutral or whatever, and then over and over posting that Franken did it. Go re-read your own posts. It's impossible to carry on a discussion when you don't realize how your posts come across and then you complain about others' reading skills.

Maybe, because it was so insignificant in his mind that he barely remembered it. Also, even if everything Tweeden said was 100% accurate, it still doesn't rise to the level of sexual harassment.

I also enjoyed Rose's interviews but many of the ones I saw were him interviewing male actors. I was disgusted with his Clinton interview. I wanted to yell at the TV, "Stop interrupting, let the woman answer!" I'd never seen anything like it in his other interviews but thinking back I couldn't recall any interviews with women. I counted 30 interruptions by Rose in this transcript of half the interview. (You may have to click on "transcript".)

I never watch the Today Show or whatever it is he's also on either.

Where are the reports that "everyone knew about Franken"? They're not hard to find on the other men.

I can't remember an in depth interview with a woman ever. This isn't meant to excuse him...there is no excuse but Rose is in his 70s. Sort of 1 foot in the old school so maybe the way he handled that interview isn't all the surprising.

I guess John Oliver has been making jokes for a while about ' the creepy sex banter on the CBS Morning show where Rose is an anchor.

I'm going to pass on watching the Hillary interview as I'm sure it will just piss me off.

Not sure what that means? But how can you make up your mind based upon a tv show designed to make people laugh? I don't think you can get any kind of clue of what Franken is like off camera from what you see on SNL. A better clue is the letter 36 women that he worked with on SNL signed saying that Al treated them with the utmost respect.
