Kevin Spacey accused of sexual assault on minor......and he's gay

It's understandable that they would shut down production after such incidents especially since he'd been doing it with more or less complete impunity. Again the biggest question in my opinion is that, since he repeatedly engaged in this kind of behavior, why didn't senior staff do anything? I find it very hard to believe that they were completely oblivious.

Abusive, exploitative and general toxic behavior on or off workplaces will always occur to some degree, so the mission isn't really about preventing it from occurring completely. Instead it's about reducing the likelihood of it occurring and mitigating the potential harmful consequences.

While willful ignorance might keep things from spilling out publicly, negatively affecting ones public image among other things, it's often unsustainable and only makes things worse in the long run.

Everybody that knows believed their career was more important than the dignity and mental health of those in danger.

In kind with the poster I responded to, yes. I never molested anything.

But I did enjoy House of Cards. Still, I understand the decision to cancel it and can't fault the decision makers. It's just disappointing all around.
psssst, it was a pun on the word 'kid' ;)

You mean, right after he becomes president and right before it all jumps the shark and devolves into 80 hours of soap-opera, political gibberish and plot holes?

80 hours - he's been in power for nearly 11 months!

:duck:

Sorry couldn't help myself.

That's another thing; House Of cards has lost it's function as escapism.

It's like watching Schindlers List to take your mind of another hard day in Auschwitz.

Does this mean Spacey isn't a great actor after all? I mean, his famous roles as secret badguy, middle aged man lusting after a teen, and manipulative bastard turned out to be based on his real personality.
He's able to memorize lines though, that's probably worth something.

Don't matter to me.

It's like the writer Celine who wrote from the perspective of an angry, bitter, hateful, Nazi-supporting antisemite who hated himself as much as he hated the world. And guess what? That's exactly what he was.

Did Bob Odenkirk or Bryan Cranston harass anybody yet?
I would really like to continue watching 'Saul', and I also consider watching Breaking Bad again …
:)

You're articulated exactly the reason why I couldn't care about this show. If I wanna watch a real political drama filled with insane **** happening all the time, all I have to do is watch the news (And what better example that what has happened just now? Spacey's situation is far more interesting and generating far more discussion than anything Frank Underwood may have done)

One has nothing to do with the other -- one can be a great actor an an asshat at the same time -- but he's probably finished in the business.
