Hmmm, I believe it was Wednesday night that Rachel Maddow was speculating that TrumpCo's recent behavior -- trying desperately to discredit Mueller and deflect attention with the uranium deal -- might portend something in the wind.

Maddow was a long way from the only person saying that.

Bwhahahahah

If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell

You are at step 3.

You just don't get that all criticism of Dear Leader is forbidden, don't you?

US voting server in election security probe is mysteriously wiped

The server in question is based in Georgia – a state that narrowly backed Donald Trump, giving him 16 electoral votes – and stored the results from the state's voting systems. The deletion of its data makes analysis of whether the computer was compromised impossible to ascertain.

Double Nothingburger. With mayo.

You could learn from the alleged dictatorship of Venezuela about voting machines and how to ensure accountability. Ask Jimmy Carter.

If there was good evidence it was wiped in purpose then they wouldn't have to write mysterious.

Do you know who the source is? Apparently spreading doubt is part of the plan. I went to a lecture last night: Engineering Lecture: Finding "Fake News" in Times of Crisis This looks like one of the typical stories being spread with the actual motive of spreading doubt about the process.

Not saying the story is false, just saying not to believe stuff like this without more confirmation.

Dude, it was wiped after the suit was filed. Nothing "mysterious" about obstruction of justice and destruction of evidence, esp after Sessions said in another case it was kosher to do it to keep documents out of investigators' hands.

Well spotted ;)

But, if I was AC do you think you would get your £5?

He was a bit of a cad, yes.

I'm still surprised that he managed to show a shred of decency during the Matrix Churchill trial. It seems to have been totally out of character.

No evidence it was wiped on purpose therefore not evidence of obstruction.

Or that they were lying before, and now they can't lie anymore. I think that's the more plausible explanation, don't you? How could the campaign not know (and Podesta was the Chairman of the campaign) that their main law firm had dug up such salacious material on Trump? You don't think Marc Elias, who apparently does double duty as Podesta's personal lawyer, in addition to being the campaign's general counsel, would have mentioned the allegations of collusion with Russia, or, at the least, the fact that Trump was paying Russian prostitutes to pee on his bed?

Do you have a theory as to why if the Hillary campaign was fully up-to-date on Steele's research they didn't use any of it during the campaign? Was it because they knew that Hillary would lose so they decided to wait until after the election and then use John McCain as a conduit to undermine Trump's presidency?

Looks like some folks, including myself, have indeed gotten unnecessarily "excited" by this news. An update to the Ars Technica article on the subject (link):

UPDATE 11:40pm ET: Tammy Demel, a spokeswoman for Kennesaw State University, e-mailed Ars a statement.

"In March 2017, a Center for Election Systems’ server involved in an alleged data breach was turned over to the FBI. While the server was in the possession of the Bureau, a forensic image or copy of all the data on the server was made and held by the agency. Following the notification from the FBI that no data was compromised and the investigation was closed, the server was returned to the University’s Information Technology Services group and securely stored. In accordance with standard operating procedures, an after-action report was prepared. This report outlined hardware improvements for the Center, including repurposing the impacted server and surplusing servers that had exceeded end of life. As part of the report, the original server that had been investigated by the FBI was designated to be repurposed, and the drives on the server were erased and the server made available for alternative uses."

"As noted by the subpoena filed today by the Attorney General’s Office, the data and information that was on the server in question has been and is still in the possession of the FBI and will remain available to the parties in the event it is determined to be relevant in the pending litigation."

This guy didn't jump the gun. Hoorays for skepticism.
