What was the hardware used in the server? what software was it running? what was its connectivity?

How is the location important?

Some used stuff they got from Hillary's failed campaign, that they jerry rigged together and stuffed down in the basement. .

Say you know where can get some info that you guys can use to get educated?

Hee hee!

Now tell me folks just how was Hillary going to get all those documents produced in time to respond to foia requests anyhow?

It's location was important because Hillary hid all her communications out of the reach of foia, and did not turn them over when she left.

What is the connectivity? I burst out laughing love it!

Switch? Wait, we were, well you were, talking about your experience in running a web server, which really has absolutely nothing at all to do with running the *********** state department through a home brew server that Hillary kept in her *********** basement.

Uhm, she didn't "run the state department" out of her server. She ran her own email out of her server. The State Dept. was run on government servers. Hyperbole doesn't do anything to help whatever point it is you're trying to make.

What was the hardware used in the server? what software was it running? what was its connectivity?

All questions I wish I knew the answer to :( I'm genuinely curious. I have my ideas though.

How is the location important?

Right? He doesn't even acknowledge the fact that it's the Clinton's home. You know? The dangerous Clinton's that leave a trail of bodies wherever they go without any sign of remorse or second thought? If his gripe isn't about physical access, then the location of the server make absolutely no difference at all.

He won't be able to answer adequately, or explain why these things are supposed to be issues, or in fact understand why an independent server can be more secure than a server farm or a government run server. He has it in his head that if it was in a basement and not being run by a company, it must be a rickety machine that you can hack cyberpunk style like they do in the movies.

Ask him about certificates some time. It's a hoot.

I'm sorry. I see you didn't answer the questions. At all.

I'll repeat in case you didn't understand:

What was the hardware used in the server? what software was it running? what was its connectivity?

How is the location important?

If you need me to simplify the questions for you, just say so!

Perhaps the questions are too difficult to reply to.

Say any of you guys get the chance to "catch up" on those FBI interviews about her homebrew server that just hid all emails from prying foia requests, government investigations and subpoenas?

And lied about?

I'm sorry did you miss the fact that I linked to an article summarizing the FBI interviews about her homebrew server?

the answers are all in there!

Beautiful!

I've read through the bulk of the notes when they first came out. Is this what your "gotchas" have become? Hmmm.

Do they have all of the emails?

I'm sorry. But I read over what you wrote, and you have yet to answer the questions:

What was the hardware used in the server? what software was it running? what was its connectivity?

How is the location important?

I already answered the location one. Strike one!
I already told you where the hardware questions were answered and linked! Strike 2
And now welcome to strike 3

"The two men loaded in a standard 12-unit server rack and the other hardware: a Kiwi Syslog Server, Cisco Private Internet eXchange firewall, a 3-terabyte hard drive and a power supply. Pagliano set up a Windows Small Business Server, as well as a BlackBerry Enterprise Server to run the Clinton devices. Cooper, meanwhile, registered a so-called SSL certificate to secure the server at Pagliano’s direction. Later, Pagliano assessed the setup as a “standard” and “B+” email server."

Fantastic

Amazing! I knew you had it in you to actually answer a question!

A first for you! Have a cookie!

Now, why is the location of the server an issue? I see I continue to hit home runs against you. Lets see if you can manage to answer yet another question.

Now anyone at all think I am going to get an answer to the questions about the real issues?

Say any of you guys get the chance to "catch up" on those FBI interviews about her homebrew server that just hid all emails from prying foia requests, government investigations and subpoenas?

And lied about?

I sure don't!

The problem is that he doesn't really understand the answers. He could cut and post the answer from the article he linked to, a lot of it is there, but it doesn't mean anything to him. He thinks that because the hardware was stuff left over from the campaign that this somehow makes it a "home brew" or "cowboy" server without understanding that ALL servers are made this way, that you don't just go down the shop and pick up a server off the shelf, they are built from parts that someone gets and puts together to do the job you want it for. He has no understanding of what software was needed or if what was used was satisfactory. Nor does he have any understanding of why location may or may not be important, or what factors different locations bring into play. The idea of setting up a server in a bedroom with wires strung up like washing lines is a foreign concept to him, but I would almost lay a bet that among computer professionals we all know someone that has done it, is doing it, or thought about doing it at some stage. But hey. it's really not worth the time trying to educate someone that is uninterested in learning, so.....

Hit home Runs? K. :D

I already answered the location question.

Hmm...

I know. It seems that the server is far from 'homebrew', and was a fairly standard business setup. So.. Not 'cowboy', and the physical location in irrelevant.

Aww. Was the question too difficult for you?

Why is it 'bad' that the server was in the basement (bottom room of her house)?

There there. You'll get it eventually

Illusory superiority.

It's location was important, as I have already explained because it was not in control of the people responsible for responding to foia, investigations and subpoenas.

i already explained this, do you want me to make it simple for you?

:D

They probably had it stacked next to bill's old penthouses.

:D

At one of the places I recently worked, the entire server room and contents were designed by the head tech. 16 boxes running as 8 twin paired servers, and not one of them an off the shelf spec. Anyone that had called his babies "home brewed" or "cowboy" he'd have booted them out the server room so fast they wouldn't have touched the antivibration rigged floor.

Illusory superiority.

Oh you sly old dog. Yes you still suffer from it it. Your entire posting style is condescending, falsely superior, and overwhelmingly arrogant. Perhaps you need Jesus to lead you to a humble life.

Tsk Tsk. No. It's almost as if you believe that such things need physical access.

:D

Still not simple enough for you, it seems, but hey, you managed to answer a total of TWO questions!

Don't worry: Shalamar, The Alpha Wolf is here to lead you.
