Hot take: national teams is a really dumb and people excited to watch pulisic play are better off watching bundesliga.

"In journalism, a hot take is a "piece of deliberately provocative commentary that is based almost entirely on shallow moralizing" in response to a news story, "usually written on tight deadlines with little research or reporting, and even less thought"."

Is that word not common enough it needed to be defined here?

President Trump on Wednesday forcefully denied an NBC News report that he asked to dramatically expand the U.S. nuclear arsenal and suggested he might pull the network’s broadcasting license.

“Fake @NBCNews made up a story that I wanted a ‘tenfold’ increase in our U.S. nuclear arsenal. Pure fiction, made up to demean. NBC = CNN!” he tweeted.

In a subsequent tweet, the president wrote: “With all of the Fake News coming out of NBC and the Networks, at what point is it appropriate to challenge their License? Bad for country!”

Oh look Trump is saying something is fake news which means it's probably more or less truthful. Also, he's musing over the possibility of shutting down news agencies that publish things that he disagrees with or portrays him in bad light (which is essentially Trump's definition of "Fake News").

Worthless low-IQ President.

For those with no twitter access, just a taste of today's twitter rant...

I love how he goes from current market growth to the need for cuts, as if they'll retroactively be responsible for the growth.

His renewed attacks on freedom of speech, however, are just more proof that the man's barely qualified to be human, much less leader of the free world.

I think he meant the rich need tax cuts so they can drive stock market prices even higher, whereupon a few people will get obscenely rich by accurately predicting the inevitable collapse. That will be the main effect of the tax cuts the GOP is pushing. The idea that rich people create jobs because they have money they don't know what to do with is simply idiotic. If Trump actually believes that, he's a *********** moron, but the people who own the GOP surely know the real story.

back to the IQ thingy....

from elsewhere

On twitter there's a good IQ question to ask Tillerson: How do you use 25 to turn 45 into 46.

Since Trump loves TV and thinks this is all a game, I want to see Trump, Tillerson, and Trump's choice of either Obama, Hillary, or Sanders on Jeopardy. But I'm pretty sure Trump wouldn't have the guts to even go on "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?"

We just had an Adam Ruins Everything on IQ tests being garbage. I don't think the results of an IQ test passes skeptical analysis.

IQ tests definitely measure something...

The ability to do well on IQ tests.

That said, it’s not a foregone conclusion that Trump would do poorly on such a test. There may be a certain cunning underlying the psyche the rest of the world observes.

But I would still love to see the results of Trump’s IQ test. Though the chance that we ever will is vanishingly small.
