Your predictive accuracy doesn't alleviate a responsibility to skepticism.
It's OK to stop being skeptical when the truth is known, you know. You don't really have to keep digging just so you can show off your shiny skeptic cred.

In the event the truth is known. It isn't in these cases. It's OK to stop being skeptical when the truth is known, you know. You don't really have to keep digging just so you can show off your shiny skeptic cred.
Exactly, I give him all the credit that is due- credit for a statement made only after 2 days of intense pressure and public embarrassment, and only after having ignored multiple obvious opportunities to make such a statement earlier.
I am glad he ultimately did say that racism is evil. Okay (and who would have thought a year ago that we would be relieved when a POTUS finally made such a statement?). But it is very hard not to conclude that Trump was not exactly enthusiastic about it, and that his slow response indicates something very questionable as to his private views.
New, from Hallmark: platitudes for the Nazi mob in YOUR life.
Nah, I think the only reason he's expected to say it is because he's Trump.
You don't think Obama would've made an immediate fuss about such an event? Or W Bush?
You don't think Obama would've made an immediate fuss about such an event? Or W Bush?
"...by many sides, by many sides."Sure. But Trump did make an immediate fuss about the event, when he called it "hatred, bigotry and violence".
This was politically motivated violence in order to harm and intimidate. That's terrorism. Terrorism doesn't require conspiracy.
Pretty pathetic if this is the best you can muster. Motive is essential to even the broadest definition of terrorism, and I'm sorry to report that even racially motivated violence is not necessarily terrorist (see for instance a garden-variety hate crime). By your standard, such as it is, the nut who shot up Republicans on the baseball diamond was a terrorist.
I am not saying the action in question was certainly not terrorism. I am simply saying humans are predictably impulsive and stupid. They're also tribal.
I don't know about the rest of you, but my estimation of Trump is low enough to be improved, however marginally, by him eventually capitulating and doing the right thing.
It would mean most spree shooters and mass shooters are not terrorists.
I don't know about the rest of you, but my estimation of Trump is low enough to be improved, however marginally, by him eventually capitulating and doing the right thing. "Too little, too late" is still better than nothing and it's more than I expected of him.
So you know what? Good job, Donnie. Hopefully you won't need to be shamed into it next time.
Correct. If it isn't in service of a political goal, it isn't terrorism.
How is it not in service of a political goal?
I didn't say, nor wished to imply, praise.
I said credit.
There's a difference.
The problem is that he said it 48 hours after he should said it,and obviously did do under pressure, and said it in a way totally lacking in conviction.
Are you really that dense, or are you looking for any excuse to let Trumpy off the hook.
Now that Ken Frazier of Merck Pharma has resigned from President’s Manufacturing Council, he will have more time to LOWER RIPOFF DRUG PRICES!
“Our country’s strength stems from its diversity and the contributions made by men and women of different faiths, races, sexual orientations, and political beliefs,”
“America’s leaders must honor our fundamental values by clearly rejecting expressions of hatred, bigotry, and group supremacy, which run counter to the American ideal that all people are created equal.”
Killing someone because they make you upset? That is in service of an emotional goal.
Well then the Nazi repression of political opponents didn't have a political goal because leftists just made them upset?
That is a group where we have evidence their intent was to suppress opposition.
