Ed Dueling protests spark state of emergency in Virginia.

Agreed.

Credit where credit is due.

The true ideologues will be the ones who will continue to find fault, even after he says exactly what they've been insisting he should say.
Just where is that credit due?

As for ideologues? Puhleese. You can't possibly think Trump mouthing words he was forced to was sincere.

Yes, he already passed the point where any redemption was possible. That's not our fault.

I didn't say, nor wished to imply, praise.

I said credit.

There's a difference.
Credit for what? And you said "true ideologues will be the ones who will continue to find fault."

What fault is now absolved?

Could just be angry murder with no higher objective. Could be with no intent to affect anything.

Yes, and it could have also been his way of testing out the effectiveness of Dodge Charger airbags.

But you'd have to be a complete moron devoid of even the slightest bit of intelligence to believe that, too.

Yes, I'm firmly an ideologue on this. It's important to me to have a president who understands the problem of white supremacist violence sufficiently that he'll promptly and unambiguously condemn it especially when he knows that some of the bigots are fans of his.

I haven't seen evidence one way for another. He could have pulled up, and simply wanted them to die because he hated them so much. That is probably worse than terrorism: killing them with intent to affect a political outcome.

pfft

After being goaded into mouthing the words, it's hard to think it mattered.

Well, he just HAD to lead with how awesome he is before he got into the meat of the matter, too.

You can't tell me he didn't clear this with his nazi's in the administration first. Gorka, Bannon, Miller - they all went to their respective nazi friends and warned them it was coming, and requested that they not take what Trump was going to say seriously.

I am virtually certain David Duke himself was informed of the remarks ahead of time.

The problem is that he said it 48 hours after he should said it,and obviously did do under pressure, and said it in a way totally lacking in conviction.
Are you really that dense, or are you looking for any excuse to let Trumpy off the hook.

I think over the years it's become quite evident that you personally not seeing evidence for <fill in the blank> certainly doesn't mean it's not there. You have a penchant for ignoring it.

You have no evidence of this claim.

What is the evidence that it is terrorism?

I have not ignored evidence here.

Exactly, I give him all the credit that is due- credit for a statement made only after 2 days of intense pressure and public embarrassment, and only after having ignored multiple obvious opportunities to make such a statement earlier.

I am glad he ultimately did say that racism is evil. Okay (and who would have thought a year ago that we would be relieved when a POTUS finally made such a statement?). But it is very hard not to conclude that Trump was not exactly enthusiastic about it, and that his slow response indicates something very questionable as to his private views.
