He expected results for his efforts, and this is just unacceptable. I mean, even that insufferable douchebag Assange seems to be getting something out of the operation, for Pete's sake. The entire western world of Putinella whores have been typing their fingers to the bone 24/7... Greenwald barely has time left for cheesy self promotion... and they can't even manage to sabotage this half- hearted sanctions regime?

There is debate over Putin really expected to get much in the way from favors to Trump or if his main goal was just to throw the US into chaos.

The German minister of economics has now pointed out that unilateral sanctions are against international law. Boom. This is something German politicians usually keep quiet about if it is the Empire that does it. She encouraged the EU to prepare retaliary measures. As I said, huge own goal in the making...

It's an analysis of the available evidence and not worthless at all. It's true, there could have been earlier steps, but of course that's speculation you have no evidence for ...
It is incumbent on those who claimed that the hacker copied locally, as opposed to other possible explanations, that the evidence is evidence only for this.

You have just been explained that the evidence is explained nicely by the old theory. It doesn't requite more, or more onerous, assumptions than the new theory. Therefore, the old theory still stands.

Try something better next time.

...
Ray and the LaRouche guy had a good laugh about that.

Got evidence for that?

Well, Trump could get others to join in on the sanctions against Russia, but seeing as how Russia is the only country that really likes him a whole lot that would be significant...

Russia doesn't like Trump. Russia merely likes Trump to run the USA. Into the ground.

There is no collusion, folks.
There's just a whole lot of dirt that Putin has on the greedy Trump team.

Why not both? Actually, I thing the chain of events accumulated so far overwhelmingly indicates both.

Flying home from G20, Trump personally dictated his son's initial lies on Russian lawyer meeting.

On the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit in Germany this month,*President Trump’s advisers discussed how to respond to a new revelation*that Trump’s oldest son had met with a Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign — a disclosure the advisers knew carried political and potentially legal peril.*

The strategy, the advisers agreed, should be for Donald Trump Jr. to release a statement to get ahead of the story. They wanted to be truthful, so their account couldn’t be repudiated later if the full details emerged.

But within hours, at the president’s direction, the plan changed.

Flying home from Germany on July 8 aboard Air Force One, Trump personally dictated a statement in which Trump Jr. said he and the Russian lawyer had “primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children” when they met in June 2016, according to multiple people with knowledge of the deliberations. The statement, issued to the New York Times as it prepared a story, emphasized that the subject of the meeting was “not a campaign issue at the time.”

I disagree. The timeline during the campaign and beyond strongly indicates cooperation; at least to my eyes. Whether or not the bullets, casings, gun powder residue, and smoking firearm are ever found... I don't know. But the circumstantial indicators are clear.

The amateurs got trapped. Mice don't collude.

Trump Jr. says to a Kremlin-connected lawyer that he would love to see dirt dumped on Clinton at a specific time, “I love it especially later in the summer.”

Later that summer:

And this is interesting...

Summary: The President dictated that misleading memo that his son provided about that meeting with the Russian lawyer.

This really makes Trump look guilty of something.

So far, still no smoking gun, but there's a real whiff of gunpowder in the air.
If true, there will be no need for a smoking gun, at least not related to an underlying crime. It's starting to sound like it's been running the cover-up(s), which was exactly what took the legs out from under Nixon.

ETA: And we already know for sure that at least part of the reason it fired Comey was to put the brakes on the investigation(s) into its campaign.

It seems that all the WH top guys, particularly the family members, spend an extraordinary amount of time on this matter. Along with their teams of lawyers. Which makes me wonder: Who pays for all these lawyers?

And the White House is still leaking like crazy. I'd think the number of advisors with personal knowledge of this would be a pretty small circle. Wonder if we'll see more firings soon. I still like my conspiracy theory that Bannon is behind the leaks and uses them to undermine anyone who might influence the POTUS more than him. Uses the Russia stuff because Bannon's one of the few guys that close to Trump who's clean on that point.
