Good he needs to be fired!

Sarcasm, right? It's often so hard to tell. But in searching your prior posts they are all pro-Sessions or defenses of him, so it seems unlikely that now you really think he should be fired,

Or perhaps you, as many of Trump's loyal (or professed) followers, continue to cling to him as he undergoes these violent changes in his beliefs and positions, minute by minute and day by day, as his tiny hard spheroid of a brain is bounced back and forth in the pinball machine of his cavernous skull. Perhaps today you are anti-Sessions. Or are willing to claim to be to show your loyalty to Mr T.

The only thing that's important is being against the other party.

I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be worried about the consequences of Jeff Sessions being fired as Attorney General. I'm really not enjoying this administration.

I hope Sessions starts lashing back at him. Let them destroy each other.

That would be a glorious and beautiful thing to behold. As much as I despise him, a wily and seasoned veteran like Session can fight as dirty as he wants to.

I hope so, too, right after DJT fires him, which can't happen too soon. Weak on civil rights, heartless on immigration, starting absurd war on marijuana, wants more private prisons but no police reform -- horrible choice for AG in the first place.

Be careful what you wish for, if he goes his replacement could be far, far worse.

It seems that each issue that comes along is quickly heralded as Trump's downfall. Maybe it's more a slow sink under the weight of all the issues. Not with a bang but with a whimper.

This is almost funny if it wasn't serious.

I don't expect Sessions to start lashing back. Congressional Republicans have been rallying around Sessions since Trump has begun to attack him. They wouldn't be if Sessions declared war on the President. Then the President would be justified in firing him.

As it stands, Trump has voiced no other criticism of Sessions other than the recusal. I think it's clear that Trump sees that the necessary first step to firing the Special Prosecutor is replacing Sessions with someone who will fire Mueller and Sessions recusal won't allow that.

But this is Sessions' dream job and he's barely got his feet wet and now the President is going to send him packing because he did the right thing? He's no longer even a Senator. I can't imagine what career Sessions could have after this. So, I don't expect him to go softly into that good night but I can't imagine him publicly attacking Trump either.

But this is starting to get embarrassing kind of like Chris Christie.

Hey, can you imagine that? Sessions gets forced out and Trump nominates the sycophant Christie to take his place?

I've heard Ted Cruz. To which my first response would be, why would he do it? I mean, how could he pledge loyalty and all that? And then I remember, these guys have no shame at all, and will gladly sell out their wife and father to gain power.

You've missed the update. He also isn't investigating Hillary Clinton.

Didn't Trump say something after he won about not wanting to pursue Hillary? Something about not seeking to hurt her any more?

One might almost think that his apparently renewed enthusiasm for investigating her is simply designed to distract attention from his and his campaign's own wrongdoings.

You mean Lyin' Ted, whose father totally assassinated JFK? That Ted Cruz?

Oh, and thanks for reminding me of the other Not Chris Christie mentioned by CNN.

Here we go -

once Trump became President-elect, he said he wouldn't recommend prosecution of Clinton, whom he told New York Times reporters has "suffered greatly."
He also said the idea of prosecuting Clinton is "just not something I feel very strongly about."

and

"President-elect Donald Trump once again disassociated himself from his aggressive campaign rhetoric when he told a crowd in Michigan on Friday that he doesn’t “care” about putting Hillary Clinton in jail anymore."

For what, recusing himself? Coming up with an awkward lie in the first place? Not sticking to his guns afterward? I'd like to hear your argument.

Might It be good that Sessions let Trump know he was going to recuse himself?

How would Sessions know that he would have to recuse himself from a future investigation into wrongdoings by the Trump campaign?

There are two ways. Either he can see the future, or he knew there were wrongdoings by the campaign connected to him, or the reasonable appearance thereof.

All you have to do is look what happened, it's still not fair to Trump. Sessions ought to do the honourable thing and resign. Have you ever seen an appointed position such as this take such a beating and not resign?
