CNN Doxxes a gif maker

Wow I owe CE a humble apology for my gaffe. Here, I fixed it for me:

well, he didn't do that either.

Why don't you clearly explain what Trump did and how that relates to the person who created a different version of that gif.

Why don't you do exactly that? You're the one that seems to have an issue with the statement and you are implying it's factually wrong. Quit playing games.

Well, now THAT is something.

Hoo boy.....

Money is merely a technology that converts unrelated labor, in the case of a political campaign, to campaign media, content, and resources. This person didn't use money, but used their own resources to create campaign content. It was used by a politician for self promotion.

That is utterly ridiculous.

Since anyone who has paid even an iota of attention to this story knows full well that Trump re-tweeted the alt-reicher, what in the name of Zeus are you going on about Childlike Empress? Your "fake news" autopilot routine is an abject joke (albeit lacking in humor).

Just because in your propaganda bubble everybody parrots each other doesn't mean that you aren't collectively gullible enough to buy a fraud like this. And no, you didn't "fix" it in your later post. I told you already why:

He didn't "retweet" it. First, reddit is not a tweet, second, what Trump posted is not a GIF, it's a video with sound, a diffferent cut and a FNN logo added. It's a derivitive work. Nobody so far knows how Trump came to tweet it. The connection to the reddit post is indirect at best.

You linked to Trump's tweet - do I have to tell you that GIF's don't have sound? Like the one the guy on reddit posted. He deactivated his account after CNN's bullying, but of course it will get reposted until the end of the internet. Here: https://www.reddit.com/r/The_Donald...ar_cnn_doesnt_like_this_gif_lets_remind_them/

See the difference? No sound, not all scenes, no FNN logo? Trump only came up with that FNN meme days after the reddit post, btw.

So you and your whole echo chamber got fooled again by Fake News! HAHAHAHA!!!!

face palm, a gif isn't technology and the claim that someone who created agif that went viral isn't making a campaign donation, in fact your claim is unbelievably absurd.

I didn't claim a GIF was technology. Money is a technology used by campaigns to convert unrelated labor of others into campaign material. This skipped this step, and is campaign material made by someone, and used by the politician themselves. It is a campaign contribution. It is literally a contribution to Donald Trump's campaign to affect his agenda.

Eh? Are you saying Trump didn't tweet that tweet?

A campaign contribution of money is speech because money buys The Press, which is the means of mass production and distribution of speech. A mechanical press costs money, and dictators of old could and did regulate or outlaw printing presses as a backdoor method of censorship.

Direct speech, The People posting content critical of the powers that be, is speech because it's speech. Whoever is saying speech is therefore a "campaign contribution" has it bass-ackwards.

Of course, it is of interest who says what, regardless of whether it is a campaign contribution or a citizen using their right of free speech. However, to speak anonymously is also contained with in the concept of freedom of speech. The government cannot require you to reveal your identity as the price of admission to participating in the marketplace of ideas.

What's your point, really? That it didn't come from the reddit guy originally because the video tweeted by Trump came from an earlier source with sound, from which the GIF was also converted?

It's basically a nitpick on what the file extension is and even there it's pretty sad. The individual took responsibility for the .gif. Just some weird points to make to try and make a point

He makes all of these aggressive gifs, by his own admission, and posts them on a well known forum to spread them to everyone. One of them goes viral that causes people to look into it. This MADE him a public figure and, also, private citizens are also public figures. Like movie stars, YouTube actors, journalists.

If this guy weren't a public figure we wouldn't be talking about his actions, which led to the person himself.

Agressive gifs?

"CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.”

Call it what you want here, I think that threat was a big mistake by CNN. Why did they take this so far?

There are now dozens (if not more) of similarly themed "GIFs" on the internet now, so the plan backfired.

Eh? Are you saying Trump didn't tweet that tweet?

I think I was clear enough. What Trump tweeted is a video that is far from identical to the GIF on reddit. Trump's has sound, more scenes and an inserted "FNN" logo at the end. HanAssholeSolo's has none of that. Trump's is 28 seconds long, HanAshholeSolo's at most ten. If you want you can try to figure out if they are based on the same material at all or only on the same idea. What's obvious is that Trump did not take that guy's GIF and put it up in his own tweet. There are several possible options to what happened here, but that's not one of them.
