The Trump Presidency

According to Lawrence O'Donnell, Trump's private lawyer, Marc Kasowitz, doesn't have a license to practice in DC. Trump couldn't find a DC law firm that would take him on as a client.

I can't find a corroborating link at the moment.

And how about that cabinet meeting, eh?

His associates love him! He must be awesome.

I saw the first minute or so of it, but had to leave for an appointment. I have since seen clips from it and I can think of no other event that better earns the word "cringeworthy".

Apparently Schumer Tweeted a mock meeting making fun of it. I've not seen the Cabinet meeting yet and only saw a snippet of the fake one where there are comments on Schumer's great hair and what a blessing it is to serve him.

<snip>

The main difference between Trump's real meeting and Schumer's parody was that the people in Schumer's were trying (and sometimes failing) to keep a straight face.

Aside from that it was a fairly accurate recreation. Even the dialogue was pretty much the same.

One way to buy fealty is to have supplicants debase themselves by shedding their dignity. It creates or reinforces a psychological dependency. Trump's Cabinet members will now have paid a higher buy-in, and will be more motivated to toe the line. Unless they possess any shred of moral fiber and revolt.

That doesn't look to be a problem any time soon.

According to the Constitution of the United States you are so very wrong.

The Left = people who respect The Constitution

The Right = people who violate The Constitution

Is that your point?

Everybody knows that the Constitution was written by a bunch of weakling leftists whose only goal was to make Trump look bad.

Bursting out laughing at the end was priceless.

Can't wait to find out what Trump's Tweets will be in response. Something about Schumer's shameful jealousy?

Trump said there would be new coal jobs, there will be new coal jobs. After all Trump has successfully pushed through all of his campaign promises so far.

There will be new coal jobs. There have been new coal jobs for decades.

Problem is, all those new coal jobs are for running new equipment that eliminates many more coal jobs.

Not sure if Trump deserves much credit for those new jobs, though. They were happening long before he got to the White House.

Lol

Because they don't want to upset liberal judges!

Wrong!! Trump was too stupid to understand that what he tweeted could be used against him, and it was. Trump didn't listen to his own people and got his face slapped.

The Public Is Growing Tired of Trump's Tweets, Says Voter Survey

The survey said that 82 percent of Democrats polled thought Trump tweets too much, up from 75 percent in December. Republicans came in at 53 percent saying the president used Twitter too often, an 11-percent increase from December. Overall, 57 percent of voters who took the survey said Trump's tweets are hurting his presidency. Another 53 percent said his Twitter use undermines U.S. standing in the world. The poll found that 51 percent of all voters said Trump's tweets imperiled national security.

From CNN:

Can't you just feel him cringing at the others' comments? :sdl:

That's only half the story. When he said "so our diplomats can negotiate from a position of strength", that was a dig against proposed cuts on the State Department. He was publicly pushing back on those cuts.

There is exactly one member of his Cabinet and leadership that should have a job, and that's Mattis. The rest are some combination of corrupt, treasonous, and anti-competent. Well, some are merely incompetent. What a disgraceful freak show.

Not to mention traitors to their country. Why would anyone respect a document written by such disloyal and dishonorable folk?

Trumpy has given Preibus until July 4th to "Clean Up" the White House..or else. If I were Preibus, I would start cleaning up my desk now. Trump might well be bluffing, but that he would make this kind of threat shows how he is losing it.
So we could be getting some unusual fireworks this Fouth of July.

By the sound of it, it was far from the first deadline for him to do that, though, so I'd not hold my breath.

Holy ****** What the **** was that cabinet meeting? *********** Priebus sounded like he was praying to the sick freak. That bootlicking sounded like a bunch of North Korean Apparatchik trying to convince The Dear Leader not to send them and their families to labor camps. How far does one have to be detached from reality to think that was going to play well with anyone other than his most rabid supporters? Everyone at that table should know that the last thing this president or this country needs is a cabinet with Trump's balls on their chins.

The late night comedians are probably already splicing together sound from a North Korean Party Congress and that meeting.

Did any of the lickspittle lackeys have the stones to tell him to go **** himself ?

If not then they are enablers, not victims.

I agree about Mattis. It's funny that the most competent guy sitting at the table has the nickname "Mad Dog." His comments underlined the continuing problems at the State Dept. There are still too many important desks which haven't been filled. Trump made it a point to blame "obstructionist Democrats" for the long amount of time it took for his cabinet to be filled. What is stopping him in the State Dept?
I hope Mattis is around for a while. He's the one guy that I think could stop Trump from doing something really stupid which would get lots of people killed. Fortunately, it seems that Trump has been pretty hands-off as far as the armed forces are concerned.
