The FBI doesn't investigate people based on nothing. They might conclude at the end of an investigation that there's nothing to prosecute, but they don't undertake investigations for the lols.

Given how high stakes this investigation is it's no surprise that they are proceeding carefully and deliberately.

A man of his age and family history, he is already at elevated risk for this. And his diet is know to accelerate the process.
