Why can't Corbyn connect with public?

You see that I was talking about the past implosion of the Red Menace. It now turns out it wasn't the Red Menace at all, cos we will need to keep nukes for ever and ever, commies or no commies. So I retrodict that what we were being told decades ago was nonsense. In the meantime I would like to devise some way of giving unusable weapons up, just as we have given up the slave trade, judicial torture and even, in most advanced countries, the death penalty.

None of that can tell you that a nuclear deterrent will not be essential at some point in the future. That doesn't preclude working towards global disarmament.

And you should also acknowledge that if a large part of the media is overtly hostile to you it won't really matter what you say, a way will be found to use it against you.

The FT ran a story about the Conservative media team complaining to the BBC about bias in their coverage.

They claimed that the BBC should be showing more of Corbyn.

Yes, you can certainly say that Corbyn is apparently not very good at managing the media. But that's quite different from saying his policies are bad. And you should also acknowledge that if a large part of the media is overtly hostile to you it won't really matter what you say, a way will be found to use it against you. They are after all quite prepared to simply lie if the truth doesn't work for them.

Which in no way excuses making it easy for them.

I see the Aussie Labour Party is going with Aussie Jobs for Aussie People as it's left wing message of solidarity these days. Is this really what people think the Labour Party should be about?

I don't see what you are trying to say here. Are you suggesting xenophobia or racism? Aussie People includes the nearly 30% born overseas.

I'm trying to say that a Labour Party that parrots this right wing anti immigration anti foreigner tripe has lost its way and if that's the brighter better alternative to Corbyn then they can keep it thanks.

I'm not sure what message country jobs for country people sends other than being anti-immigration and anti immigrant.

Being oneself an immigrant is not guarantee that you aren't a bigot, racist or xenophobe. My own father is strongly anti-immigration despite the fact that he himself is an immigrant to the UK (as is his daughter in law).

Corbyn himself is pushing that message too so I'm not sure how it's an alternative

Can you give examples of him doing this? My understanding is for example that Corbyn is in favour of freedom of movement post Brexit but has conceded the point based on pressure from the party and the will of the people (Tm)

Gordon Brown and Milliband were British jobs for British workers though.

How is the Labor Party slogan anti-immigration? Both parties have been pro-immigration for decades. Did you miss my point about 30% of Australians being immigrants?

It seems you are bitter about Labor being a credible party on Australia, unlike Labour, but distorting the core philosophy of the party is pretty poor.

If it's not anti immigration what in the hell is it?

I couldn't give two hoots about the credibility of Labour in Australia. If that's what credible politics looks like in Australia it only paints a fairly poor picture of Australians.

Perhaps you would like to explain what point is being distorted by calling out this dog whistle crap as exactly what it is?

Clearly you know nothing about the Australian political system, so why do you reference it?

I didn't. Why do you pretend I did?

I referenced one message from one party. One which you have noticeably failed to clarify or correct my interpretation of. That being the case I will stick with the obvious conclusion, one mirrored by my Aussie friends who also think it's pretty shameful.
