2010 Seven companies are licensed to produce energy using the Blacklight Power process.

2010 This whole deal is ready to go. Reactors are operating and have been ordered. All the critics have been put in their place.

http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-402579

Six utilities using conventional fuel to serve up 7.6 megawatts of power to their 1 million customers have ordered hydrino reactors - in deals worth up to $500 million - to generate 8 megawatts at about one cent per kilowatt.

While major utilities are already poring over engineering plans to build the plants they've ordered from BlackLight Power, energy officials and the President are promoting the construction of hundreds of new, unneeded and extremely expensive nuclear plants.

His BlackLight Process, already well-established in roughly 20 test-bed prototype 50- and 75-kilowatt reactors, promises power plants that will produce unlimited power but cost only as much as a gas-fired plant to build, about $1,500 a kilowatt, and then will have no further cost for fuel. None. Zero. Zip. Not a penny for solar, wind, plutonium, uranium, gas, coal or oil or any other fuel.

The hydrino, thankfully, has not cooperated with Mills' critics. In test after test, and now with operating reactors and contracts - albeit one in which no money changes hands until the technology is delivered, according to one utility spokesman - for much larger ones, Mills has left them gaping.

Even competitors are having success with hydrinos in 2010.

The American Reporter has learned that a hydrino-driven HHO cell is in development, and a hydrino-fueled automotive engine - known as SPICE - that optimally would self-regenerate (thus needing no fueling station) is in the works, according to a Sebastopol, Calif.-based BlackLight competitor called Chava Energy, which contacted us to comment on this article. Chava says the HHO-hydrino device, would cost $5 million to develop and be available in less than 18 months. The SPICE engine prototype, costing about $200 million, would be finished in three years, the company said.

Note also that in this piece from 2010, the possibility of harm from hydrinos is mentioned.

Now we go to 2012, and what do we have?

http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-793467

The hydrino reactor is stalled and we have working CIHT cells. The reactor needed a "bipolar plate" which hadn't been invented yet. Which seems odd given the 2010 report.

A report on the hydrino reactor by MIT scientist Terry Copeland, PhD., said a 10-watt demonstration model should be "achievable near term", and 100-watt, 1,000-watt and larger systems would follow that, Goodwin suggested.

The invention of a "bipolar plate" that allows power output to be scaled up was key to the commercial viability of the reactors, Copeland said. The company said a 1.5 kW plant to power the average-size home should be operational in 2013, it said. BLP has failed to meet deadlines for demonstrations in the past, but the devices demonstrated in December and January by the reporting scientists - in some cases as they watched their construction - seem capable of reaching that goal.

"BLP has successfully fabricated and tested CIHT cells capable of producing net electrical output up to 50 times that input to maintain the process,” according to Dr. Copeland, who has served as a product development specialist for DuPont and Duracell. "Some cells have produced steady power for over one month. The power generation is consistent with Dr. Mills’ theory of energy release resulting from Hydrino formation. No other source of energy could be identified.

"The CIHT cell will use cheap, abundant, nontoxic, commodity chemicals, with no apparent long-term supply issues that might preclude commercial, high volume manufacturing," Copekland added. "The capital cost of the CIHT cell based on optimization of the cell dimensions is estimated to be under $100/kW compared to at least ten times that for fuel cells that further require a source of hydrogen or hydrogen gas and a fuel infrastructure.”

In 2014 we now have the new SF-CIHT cell that has been validated and replicated and maybe the state and federal governments are going to adopt it.

An old adage: "Don't lie unless you have a good memory." Perhaps Brilliant Light Power believes that deleting prior statements from their website can substitute. Apparently not.

I do find myself wondering if ever found their "bipolar plate" or found a work around... I guess if one's entire product line is fictional (IMHO) then the development that permits one to make a new promise of imminent success just requires a keyboard,

Again, thanks for the response markie.
Dr. Mills has published the results of solving one to twenty electron atoms over a decade ago.

See http://physicsessays.org/browse-jou...ns-for-one-through-twenty-electron-atoms.html

But why not check the results for yourself. Go to table 7.1 in Mills 2016 book, free for download, and see his formulae and figures for the electron radius, electrical energy, magnetic energy, velocity, and special relativity correction factor, and how he combines these to arrive at the 28 ionization energies for Helium and two electron ions, from Lithium up to Copper.

Let me know if you arrive at a something that contradicts what is in the table, and if so I'll program the formulae into my GP Pari calculator and double-check.
So Mills did not publish his derivation in a relevant, peer-reviewed journal.

Reading between the lines, you did not do any checking yourself, independently.

And you did not answer my last set of questions.

Curiously, your response is similar to BH's, in the 2009 PhysicsForums thread, i.e. a non-answer.

"This is no longer an academic argument," Mills, 50, insists. "It's proven technology, and we're going to commercialize it as quickly as possible."

For the first time in his company's 19 years of persistent trial and error, Mills says he has a market-ready product: a fuel cell that produces a chemical reaction to alter hydrogen atoms. The fuel cell releases heat that turns water into steam, which drives electric turbines.

The working models in his lab generate 50 kilowatts of electricity - enough to power six or seven houses.

While the company's followers already extol the high-energy, green, and thrifty virtues of BlackLight's technology, the rest of the world will have to wait for evidence until the fall of 2009, when the business promises to install its cells in power plants.

The lower-energy atomic hydrogen product of the BlackLight Process reacts with an electron to form a hydride ion which further reacts with elements other than hydrogen to form novel compounds which are proprietary to the Company. The Company is developing the vast class of proprietary chemical compounds formed via the BlackLight Process. Test results indicate that the properties of HHCs are rich in diversity due to their extraordinary binding energy (i.e. the energy required to remove an electron which determines the chemical reactivity and properties). This new class of matter may be comparable to carbon in terms of the possibilities of new compositions of matter. Carbon is a base element for many useful compounds ranging from diamonds, to synthetic fibers, to liquid gasoline, to pharmaceuticals. The Company believes hydrino hydride ions have the potential to be as useful as carbon as a base “element.” The novel compositions of matter and associated technologies have far-reaching applications in many industries including the chemical, lighting, computer, defense, energy, battery, propellant, munitions, surface coatings, electronics, telecommunications, aerospace, and automotive industries. The Company is focusing on developing a high voltage battery and silane materials based on the novel hydride chemical products. Many additional applications of the chemical compounds are possible.

"The lower state of energy contained in a device just one cubic foot in size can create as much power as the four nuclear reactors at Fukushima that failed two years ago in a catastrophic meltdown. The unit is fueled by water and is built from commonly available materials that are not in short supply. "

Fascinating. It seems human gullibility knows no bounds.

Interesting that they could develop that much power, I know many remote communities that use 50kw diesel gennies that would have been interested in buying those units- even if they weren't `optimal' they certainly would be a viable product even back then, I know of one unit (I helped install it) that cost literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in batterys, solar, wind and a backup diesel genny for an outback motel (prior they ran 2 diesel gennys 24/7, expensive on fuel and noisy for the guests)

So he could have had a good market even for the `lab' version, and have been actually making money via a working business for the last 8 years.....
Yet its still `months' away from market....
If nothing else his `investors' must ask themselves- why when he has had the ability to reduce the amount of investor money required for his `startup', he hasnt
Surely one of the first things a company should do is maximise the investors returns (in a moral and legal way)

That he hasnt tried to maximise his investors profits shows that he doesnt have their best interests at heart
That alone should make any prospective investor wary

If he isnt interested in maximising their investment, then they should consider investing elsewhere where they would get a better return on their money

(and frankly, throwing your money into the garbage would be an equally good investment for the last 8 years (minimum))

Food for thought for markie and his mates

From that paper.

Yep and since most hydrogen is also proposed to be in a hydrino state that "vast class of proprietary chemical compounds" should already be readily available anywhere and everywhere. Even they just can't take their own lies seriously.

The graphite dome is meant to turn UV into visible light, which would hit photovoltaic cells and be turned into electricity.

According to BLP/Mills, their goal is to make something which is small enough that it can be used to power cars and/or installed in homes to give electricity, and steam engines would be too large for that.

Even if it was real, it would still be a terrible investment, as it would mean that Mills is a perfectionist who switches tracks whenever it turns out that he can't achieve perfection.

Steam engines are too large to power cars? Stanley, Doble and White beg to differ.

In 1992 he was 4 months away from a working prototype 1Kw home heating unit to fulfill a contract, lacking only the heat exchanger.

http://www.padrak.com/ine/NEN_6_8_1.html

Thank you very much!

I was in error. It was the lack of a heat exchanger and not the lack of a housing that scuttled Mills in the 1990's.

Funny, when I Google "small steam turbine" I see pages of links to manufacturers of very compact devices.

They had steam engines powering cars in the early 1900's.

It makes sense in a way that Mills is over 100 years behind the times on automotive technology. His "theory" pretends about 100 years of quantum theory, science and observation never happened.

You have to hand it to Mills for being a great humanitarian. Instead of making his investors fantastically wealthy, as he could have done years ago, he keeps pushing on to produce the most optimal energy source possible for maximum benefit to the entire world.

The output of 4 nuclear reactors from one cubic foot.. surely this power density would instantly vaporize any materials? Or perhaps he is going to teach the fusion researchers how to do proper magnetic confinement?

PMSL

But he's managed to keep doing it, he's now in college (lol as if) and his 1st year teacher is STILL waiting for that homework...

markie did he ever hand in that 1st year homework?

And he wants to put that in an automobile!

so as long as his 2008 one weighs less than 1 .375 ton, and is smaller than 1.8m x 2.4m x 2m

it is actually 5 times more powerful than is needed to propel an electric hilux at 150kmh (just under 100mph to you yanks) and yet be fully road legal in Oz in weight and size....
http://www.thebackshed.com/basiclynatural/EVConversion.asp

so every drop of oil wasted since then, every bit of pollution released by cars- it could have ALL been avoided if he had only released his working prototypes to market...
