Do you have a story about a horse, perhaps that occurred on your farm? If so I'm slavering at the mouth to hear it.

I understand, man. Let the Butthurt flow. Don't hold it in.

McGuinness hurt a lot of people...so I can understand some people are still angry.

Hope ya' feel better soon.

It was a very moving funeral service, Bill Clinton spoke at the end urging people to move towards building the full peace and reconciliation that Martin McGuinness worked so hard for.

Tony Blair, Bertie Aherne, and President Higgins were there too, as were the leaders of the two NI unionist parties.

Whilst I understand how the topic of Scottish Independence arose, this thread is really concerned with the death of Martin McGuinness; please stay on that topic. I have moved some posts to the Indyref 2 thread.
Replying to this modbox in thread will be off topic  Posted By: Agatha

Most people were there just to make sure he was dead

His body is dead, but his truth will go marching on.

Mine eyes have seen the glory
of the coming of the lord,
He is trampling out the vintage
where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He hath loosed the fateful lightning
of His terrible swift sword,
His truth is marching on

Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on

I have seen Him in the watch fires
of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar
in the evening dews and damps,
I can read his righteous sentence
in the dim and flaring lamps,
His day is marching on

Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on

I have read a fiery Gospel
writ in burnished rows of steel,
"As ye deal with My contemners
so with you My grace shall deal,"
Let the Hero born of woman
crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on

Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on

He has sounded forth the trumpet
that shall never call retreat,
He is sifting out the hearts of men
before His judgment seat,
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him!
Be jubilant, my feet,
Our God is marching on

Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on

The following stanzas are presented
as sung by The Mormon Tabernacle Choir in 1960

In the beauty of the lilies
Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in his bosom
that transfigures you and me,
As He died to make men holy
let us live to make men free,
His truth is marching on

Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on

He is coming like the glory
of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty
He is honor to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool
and the soul of wrong His slave,
Our God is marching on

Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on

And I'm sure you never said a cross word when Thatcher died...

Of course I didn't. And nor, incidentally, did Martin McGuinness. Anything the Irish had to say about Margaret Thatcher was said while she was alive, it seems to be a purely British sickness to gloat over somebody's death.

.. thought he lived in Texas

Bull. I had a friend who lived in the Ardoyne. Remember Holy Cross school? His 6 year old daughter was one of those children bricked by the unionists. Remember the "Sniper at work" signs? He was forced to conceal a disassembled Barrett 50 for the Ra. Don't even attempt to tell me what I do or do not know.

I met a man the other day with 2 Barret 50's in his hand and he concurs with your assessment.
That the IRA were bad men and MMcG the cause of all the problems.
And Miriam* & the boys/girls in the S/Indo say the same thing coincidentally.
So who can doubt your analysis.

*The woman on the TV "who makes that Katie Hopkins sound like Chomsky" as an Irish (non latte drinking) friend put it.

Of course you do. Petty minded, spiteful people always love gloating about someone's death in front of those who are mourning.

Actually we are not there gloating - I know where I am and it ain't Ireland. BUT there are people in this world who cannot make up in any way for what evil they chose to do at some point in their lives. Even more so when they are known/proven to have gloated over the foulness they did when they did it.

Ya' gotta' respect the PIRA though for pretty much sticking to miliitary and political targets. They were a very-disciplined bunch.
