Less than two months in and only most are still optimistic?

Regarding those few who aren't, are there any common factors behind their loss of faith?

To clarify...

It's not that there are a minority who have professed "losing faith". More that they are inconspicuous by their absence of posts.

The posts I do see are the optimistic ones.

edited to add: I see wareyin's post foretold my own.

Folks like him should be allies.

A lot of the blue collars who voted for Trump should be allies.
In the end, it's the old problem that the Dems have a serious problem with Blue Collar white voters....and they seem unable to fix it.
I am not a big Michael Moore fan, but he is right in being a relentless critic of the Democrats on this issue.

And remember, we have yet to face the first really serious crisis, where decisions have to made quickly and the pressure is really intense. I suspect that the result will not be good for Trump.

This wasn't directed at me, but in my Facebook feed, those who supported Trump before the election who do not appear optimistic about Trump anymore have simply stopped posting about any political issue.

Those who supported Trump before the election and appear optimistic now are those who claim not to trust "fake news" like CNN, and get all of their political news from Facebook memes spread by other Trump supporters.
+1
I've noticed the same thing

The Washington Post offering this shirt which says 'Democracy Dies in Darkness,' The L.A. Times selling shirts that say 'Journalism Matters,' and the Chicago Tribune's feature "speaking truth to power since 1847."

Fox News disagrees with those slogans?

Trump and his gang are taking at least a hundred jobs from starving Republican politicians. Now they have to become lobbyists. And give bribes instead of taking them!

No, I mean she could have used a poll that supported her claims, rather than one which said what you want her to have said about her own supporters. FFS, as upset as you claim you are about how her insulting some of half of Trump supporters caused her to lose, yet here you are complaining that she didn't insult her own supporters, too? What an astoundingly ridiculous thing to expect of a politician!

Yes, I see. How dastardly of me to oppose blatant cherry picking! Should I turn in my skeptic card now? How do I get on board with ensuring that I provide materially misleading information more regularly and avoid all this embarrassing objectivity...

What in the blue hell are you talking about? Do you seriously think that the Trump voters would've changed their mind? You are constructing a fantasy version of reality in order to continue to maintain your claim rather than accept that you are wrong.
Genuine Question here.

Early on, there was a consistently higher level of support for Clinton than for Trump. Trump won the election.

Did some of Clinton's early supporters change their views throughout the election campaign? If so, why are Clinton's supporters subject to change but Trump's are not?

If they did not, then were early polls materially biased?

If it isn't possible for either Clinton's nor Trump's supporters to change their views during the campaign... then what's the point of the campaign in the first place?

Strawman.

My point is that you've accepted an explanation that doesn't mesh with reality, presumably because it fits your biases.

What explanation is it that you think I've accepted? What bias do you think I have?

Right, insulting those who supported Trump cost Clinton the election, so she should have used the same language about her own supporters and she would have...lost worse?

There really is no pleasing some people, is there?

Oh, my. I can't believe Conway said you can spy people through their microwaves that turn into cameras...

And Spicer...

Damn, it's like they're actually doing comedy.

I highly doubt Ms Conway knows enough to go this route... but microwave surveillance is actually a thing, you know.

Wired Article: New Metamaterial Camera Has Super-Fast Microwave Vision
A SMALL, MICROWAVE-DETECTING camera that can see through solid materials in real time has been developed. Soon, the device could be adapted and used in law enforcement and security where, among other uses, its inventors envision airport scanners that screen passengers for weapons or explosives as they walk by.

The camera features a one-dimensional aperture made from a copper-based metamaterial.

Just to continue the derail about Hillary's "deplorable" comment a bit further:

I was encouraged when she said it. It showed she had correctly identified a dark seam in the GOP base. These are people who will never have anything positive to contribute to a democracy. They should be called out for their bigotry, and they should be marginalized. Politicians should not pander to the bigotry and regressivism of the deplorables. The nation should not change to fit them. They should change to fit the nation.

They exist within the democrat base as well. You know that right?

I've known that for years, which is why my microwave oven, TV, and cell phone are covered with duct tape. It gives me great comfort knowing that the government can't spy on me.

We know that wine and cheese are supposed to improve with age. I'm not sure the same can be said for the Swanson's Chicken Pot Pie you left in the microwave before hermetically sealing it.

And it's what I expected.

A very human reaction. Let us speak of it no more ... :)
