I found this part of the abstract to which markie provided a link most, um, interesting: "Novel emission lines ... were previously observed. These lines matched H(1/p), fractional Rydberg states of atomic hydrogen ...".

You may be confusing 'Rydberg states" with Rydberg matter.

It is entirely possible that, in the last half century or so, I have come across the term "Rydberg matter". I may even have once remembered what it refers to.

Not today however; I had no idea what it meant, until I found it in WP. Having read (or rather skimmed) the article, I can be 100% certain that I did not confuse the two.

May I ask, why did you think that was a possibility in the first place?

This is old news, Mills has claimed this all along, so I was puzzled why you suddenly found this interesting, unless you possibly had it confused with something else. 'Tis all.

Another question, if I may: in the last day or so, you have posted several links which take you to the abstracts of some papers. In each case, to get the paper from the link, you have to pay $$ (if you are a plebe).

How many of these papers have you actually read?
 
So the Mills research boils down to an externally powered reactor using liquid silver in a graphite sphere to destroy water and produce Hydrogen.

But Mills insists it's special hydrogen, although he has apparently never produced any hard evidence to support that claim.

It's like he read up on homeopathy and thought, "how can I adapt this to physics?"


I'm not sure if you're being serious in your first two paragraphs. In case you are, Mill's SunCell has H2 gas added to it. The SunCell does not produce it. What the SunCell produces is dihydrino gas from the H2 gas, in an environment which in essence is a silver boiler, with small amounts of a recycled oxide, and an electric current at small voltage administered when necessary.

That there are other alternatives was explicitly pointed out both in the post you quoted and before. Again, why in "the context of" purportedly "Full disclosure" simply pretend and assert otherwise?

Just look at your own post " The SunCell's outer hull will be permeable to dihydrino but not to H2.". See even by your own assertions you have a simple way to separate dihydrino and hydrogen gases. Take JeaneTate's advice, when you're already in a deep enough hole continued digging will just bury you.
 
Then why are you (or Mills) talking about "hydrino plasma (gas)", that can be "liquified by liquid nitrogen"

It's a mixture of gas (dihydrino) and plasma (H+ , -, and catalyst ions) as far as I can tell.

Clearly, using the equipment Mills+ claim to have been using, fractional Rydberg states with p>~12 would have been hard-to-impossible to detect. Yet there's no reason - per Mills (and pace markie) - why H(1/p), fractional Rydberg states of hydrogen with ~12<p<136, should not form. Yet there was, apparently, no shielding for the x-rays these states would have produced. I guess working at 493 Old Trenton Rd, East Windsor, NJ may have been (and be) more hazardous than Mills said ...

I thought about this but did not comment, for the Rossi eCat scam I had looked at the protection required , and at the extreme UV end / soft xray begin , the thickness required es very small, a few mm of steel is enough IIRC to stop pretty much everything.

I had a document showing the half stopping power by wavelength (meaning half the photon are absorbed by the metal) I have to find it again, but the conclusion I remember is that at such low energy (100 eV) pretty much every reactor walls would stop it (well 10 half value layer stop 1023/1024 of it but naturally if it emits photons then even that rest, the 1/1024 is dangerous...).

I would be more concerned with what escape through the part where it was filmed, the window.

Promise us you won't use SunCell technology to power your home in the future. You wouldn't want your home powered by nothing at all would we. It would violate the conservation of energy.


It occurs to me, after nearly 30 years of failure and broken promises, the people STILL supporting Mills exhibit a lot of the psychology of an abuse victim trapped in a typical abuse cycle.

"No, really! This time he's changed. He's going to keep his promises this time!"

Though I suppose he has other problems like trying to find a way to run his 'generator' without having to have it sucking juice off that damnable power grid.

I haven't read those particular papers. In fact I've read only a few full papers in the past, perhaps ten years ago. Don't even remember where or how. Pretty sad I know. I just remember I was impressed. Yeah I trust Mills and others that what is in the abstract correctly summarizes a well conducted, controlled experiment.

A spectrum is not a single value. Am electromagnetic spectrum is not a single spectral line.

I know that a single spectral line is likely to be produced by multiple processes.

I know of no experiments that have measured a spectrum ( = more than 1 spectral lines :eek:) that can only come from Mills fantasy about hydrinos.

You have cited no such experiments. The one experiment that you cited before is Mills imagining that a single spectral line can only be from his fantasy about hydrinos.
Now you cite an experiment that has only the ignorant and deluded medical doctor Mills as an author.

Let's get some numbers. According to Mills+ (2007), the hydrino fractional Rydberg states will have emission lines with energies of 13.6xq eV, where 2<q<137 (ordinary hydrogen is q=1, and that's the Lyman limit). q=10 gives a wavelength of 9.1 nm (Mills+ do not claim to have observed this, but q=9 and q=11, yes). q=100? 0.91 nm, or 9.1Å, or 1.36 keV. Strictly, that's still soft x-rays, and even q=137 (~7Å) is not quite hard.

No doubt it would be fairly easy to design a Mills Free Energy generator with sufficient shielding to reduce exposure to (soft) x-rays, and to write operating protocols that would reduce such exposure to ~zero (if followed). However, as you note, from what we've seen (and read) so far, such a design and protocols seem to be missing. And let's not forget that at least some members of the "Mills team" has been exposed to these risks for nearly three decades ...

In future, may I recommend that you do not post links to papers unless you have actually read them. Recently. And understood them.

FWIW, I think Mills was rather too eager (shall we say) to attribute what he saw in the spectra to "hydrino emission lines", and rather less diligent (shall we say) about checking what (boring, normal physics) alternatives there might be. And, IIRC, there's more than one published paper reporting independent results of at least some of the experiments ... failure to 'see' the same lines, and/or showing that they are more easily explained as ordinary, boring, already well-known and understood transitions ...

That is poisonous fruit to anyone who reads Mills book and has some education in physics, markie.
An invalid theory based on ignorance and fantasies has no predictive power. An author with a theory he claims to be based on classical physics but adds quantization of energy ( Bohr model and Schrödinger equation) and spin (Dirac equation) is lying.
It is adding in selected quantum concepts that probably allows Mills to generate an insane amount of "predictions". On the other hand, his rather incoherent math could be hiding anything including hardcoding his "predictions".
