President Trump

Trump is an empty vessel, ideologically speaking. But he is surrounding himself with people who will implement libertarian ideas. The ways in which he is not libertarian, e.g. on issues of civil liberties or free trade, he will make negative progress (where "progress" is a bad thing), and a Democrat would make positive progress because of the benefit of the doubt afforded by the mostly progressive mainstream media. The ways in which he is libertarian, e.g. on taxes and regulation, he will make enormous progress (where "progress" is a good thing).

If you can't see this, then I wonder if you haven't gamed things out as I have. Trump is weak-minded, and he will end up going with the smartest people who have his ear. So far, those are the libertarians.

You know I'm extremely deontological. That is not an acceptable approach to governance I can accept even on certain policy solutions. Gaming a candidate is not acceptable.

Outgoing CIA Director John Brennan has warned US President-elect Donald Trump to avoid off-the-cuff remarks once he takes office.

He said spontaneity was not in the interests of national security.

Mr Trump is known for regularly making broad pronouncements on issues of national importance on his Twitter feed.

Mr Brennan also said that Mr Trump did not fully appreciate Russia's capabilities or intentions.

"I think Mr Trump has to understand that absolving Russia of various actions that it's taken in the past number of years is a road that he, I think, needs to be very, very careful about moving down," he said.

Rick Santorum came out of the woodwork today to claim Lewis did great things in his day, then Santorum all but said, Lewis is a has-been now. What an ass Santorum is.
Yes, an ass entire, a complete ass, indeed a whole ass..........................

2010 wasn't that long ago when every liberal I knew felt conned by Obama.
Yeah, well evidence matters.

Obama made campaign promises he kept and some he was unable to keep like closing Gitmo. He may have been less Progressive than he campaigned on. That is normal for all politicians.

It doesn't compare in any way shape or form with Trump's straight out lies, often contradicting himself over and over. Then there is the fact Trump is being sued for fraud over Trump University in two states and the one AG that considered a suit got a big campaign donation instead. There are people who invested in condos south of the border because Trump backed it with his name and they lost tens of thousands of dollars.

So don't pull that bullcrap Trump is just doing normal politics. It doesn't become you.

It does become me.

The only thing Trump accused Clinton of where he isn't much worse is her being a woman and he being a man. I suppose if you put that much stock in the US president being a man, Trump indeed is doing a bang up job. There's no evidence he hasn't got a penis, however small.

That's why no pictures until he has it enlarged. Yuuugely to make it modestly visible when he can get it up with his tiny fingers and a picture of his daughter!!!!!!!

Well, I'm a utilitarian, but one with an extremely long time horizon. Which is effectively a deontologist. Or at least one without an attitude.

Funny? No.

But there's a reason why they did the freedom rides, sat at the counters, and marched right into Bull Conner's town in particular...

Is John Lewis indulging in a bit of payback? I would say so and to see Trump react so angrily must be very sweet. Looks like a case of, "People in glass houses..."

Not following you here.

Conned? How so?

Largely by blaming "the other" for the white working class's economic problems, and claiming that he'll bring back factories and coal mines, deport millions of immigrants and generally promising to "make America white great again," while in fact planning with other Republicans to cut taxes on the wealthy, reduce workplace, financial and environmental protections, cut Medicaid and other safety net programs, etc., etc., not to mention his panting after Putin, which I would think would deeply offend everyone who calls himself a conservative. Those Red State Trumpers are going to start feeling differently when 22 million people lose their health insurance and can't get coverage any other way.

Trump May Kick the White House Press Corps out of the White House

Three senior Trump officials have told Esquire that the incoming administration is seriously considering a plan to evict the White House press corps from the White House press briefing room, where it’s been housed since the Nixon administration.
Under the plan, the press corps would apparently be moved to an adjacent facility like the White House Conference Center or the Old Executive Office Building. Trump’s press secretary, Sean Spicer, told Esquire*that though the plan hasn’t been decided on yet, the potential move was motivated by a desire to accommodate the outsized interest in Trump, allowing more members of media to attend press conferences.
Meanwhile, another (unnamed) Trump official told the magazine that the potential relocation was in fact motivated by the new administration wanting to “take back” the Press Room because the media is no longer neutral, and has instead become “the opposition party” on account of how hostile they have been to Trump. “I want ‘em out of the building,” the official said.

What is this? Are you trying to start a tu quoque argument? This thread is about Trump, not Obama.

Just querying whether you got so het up when the legitimacy of other presidents was questioned?
, but the point seems to have been done to death.

Not if he has zero qualification for judging his work.
As usual, Trump proves that he doesn't know the first thing about what he's talking.

No you're wrong. That is precisely what politicians do, come in and say I can do a better job. Your side likes to throw out these little rules you THINK we're all supposed to be following. These unwritten rules come to light when your side is in defeat. We're going to steam roll your policy's! ;)

logger,

please go back to school and learn how a representative democracy works.

Trump did not get elected King, but President.

You mean a representative republic? And the president has party control of the other two branches. Not a king but a pretty heavy steam roller! ;)

You keep saying "we",

... Which is adorable in a creepy way.
