Presidents cannot accept such awards from foreign states while in office, due to the emoluments clause, so what you say is misleading.

What is at issue here is that the Nobel comes from the Nobel Foundation, not the Norwegian government or king.

is exempt from conflicts of interest within the Constitution? The emoluments thing say the president is able to be charged over them and potentially (I hope. hope, hope) can be impeached and hopefully jailed forever. Or worse.

that's an issue of pretty clear-cut nepotism.
In the past, jobs for First Ladies have been ignored, but since Trump has decided to dump his wife in favor of his daughter for the job (creepy if you ask me), we are facing a serious issue. Nepotism rules were put in place to prevent a JFK+brother combo at the top. Trump repeating what by law should no longer be allowed.

Remember he has a record of noting he would date his daughter - and what he means by date is not remotely unclear!!!

As an analogy, if the American Academy of Actuaries decided to give an award to someone in China, it would be errant to claim that the person in question received an award "from America" with the implication that the US government provided the award.

The GOP just voted to remove insurance for pre-existing conditions and keeping your kids insured until 26. Trump promised he would keep those. So we should see him veto this, right?
