If not Hillary, who?

This is a joke, right?

A joke? Well, that all depends on your point of view:

Elizabeth Warren is leading the early field for 2020 presidential nominees.

Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton may be the family's last glimmer of hope to carry the torch and keep the Clinton brand alive, and sources say that she is being groomed for a run at a U.S. congressional seat -- possibly as early as 2018.

Admittedly, Mr. Weiner is a long shot -- but even with his sexting addiction, he'd still be a better candidate than Crooked Hillary. And besides, he's got a catchy campaign slogan: "Schlonger Together."

It's too late to pick a better candidate for 2016. But for the upcoming 2020 election, the Democrats have a strong bench to draw from. Here is their current all star lineup -- anyone of them would be an improvement over Hillary:

Nancy Pelosi
Maxine Waters
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz
Chuck Schumer
Harry Reid
Al Gore
Joe Biden
Anthony Weiner
Chelsea Clinton
Tim Kaine

Wow, what a surprisingly level-headed and ideologically-free p--

Elizabeth "Fauxcahontas" Warren

...never mind.

You can't be sure it would have been Biden. He would still have had the same family issues that kept him out. And if it had been Biden, there's no reason to think he wouldn't have picked up all of Clinton's votes, and a big percentage of votes from people who held their nose and voted for Trump because they couldn't stand Clinton. Biden grew up working class, is an observant Catholic and is an undisputedly devoted family man, enhancing his appeal to multiple groups who faulted Clinton in those areas. He's never been associated with any financial scandals, and in fact he was one of the poorest Senators. He's also a skilled political operator with six Senate victories. And of course, he didn't have a billion-dollar foundation or a private email server to explain. He would have made Trump look like a howling mutt.

Plus he's likeable and charming in his own way.

How can one look at that list and think 'level headed' after seeing, in order:

Nancy Pelosi will be 80 in 2020
Maxine Waters will be 82 in 2020
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was drummed out of the DNC
Chuck Schumer surprisingly not too old or already drummed out
Harry Reid will be 81 in 2020
Al Gore already lost once
Joe Biden will be 78 in 2020
Anthony Weiner seriously?!? The sexting/dick pick guy?

Yes, that's essentially the point: it looks all nice on the surface until you start actually reading it. Poor Slings couldn't help himself.

Ah, then we are on the same page. Honestly, I'm surprised Slings included Schumer; unless there is some scandal that I'm not aware of, of course.

While not a scandal, Schumer would have had his gun control history come back to bite him in the ass.

He was involved with the Waco hearings, in which case, a lot on the right see as a scandal.

I think the point is that the party's leading lights right now are all douchebags, aging douchebags, manbearpigs, or Chuck Schumer.
At what point in 2012 was Trump considered a leading light in the GOP?

Eta: for that matter, was Obama a leading light before 2008? How many presidents were actually leaders in their party 4 years before they ran for POTUS?

“For every blue-collar Democrat we lose in western Pennsylvania, we will pick up two moderate Republicans in the suburbs in Philadelphia, and you can repeat that in Ohio and Illinois and Wisconsin.” -Chuck Schumer

Nope.

You first, meaning, I'll go down the middle when you do. ;)

I'm not asking you to meet ME in the middle. I'm asking you to meet the left down the middle. Stop expecting others to do the right thing first, otherwise you come off as someone unwilling to do the right thing for its own sake.
