Merged Terror attack on German Christmas market

Why in the name of mohammed are you comparing islamic killings with EVERYTHING else under the sun?

Because that's what you claimed.

The point was " violence, terrorism, and killings carried out in the name of pretty much every religion, not just Islam."

Whose point? Not mine. Not yours either going by the very words you quoted.

Unless US Police is a religion now?

Well for some it seems to be. Gun ownership certainly seems to be. You might also note the very last example I provided where a dunderhead claimed God told him to start a war.

Do you truly believe that this makes your case? Three random articles (two from 7 years ago) makes the case that " violence, terrorism, and killings carried out in the name of pretty much every religion, not just Islam." ??

The point isn't if it happens every now and then. I've already acknowledged that it does. The point is does it happen on the same scale? Do you have state sanctioned terrorism or outright terrorist states? Find me the christian/buddhist/hindu analog of ISIS, hamas, muslim brotherhood, hezballa etc.

Seriously? I don't know if I should laugh or weep at the level of delusion and apologia disguised as skepticism here.

Right, cuz islamophobia is the real issue here. Never mind the bombings, be-headings, shootings, stabbings, mowings over etc. that are done in the name of islam everyday. That's just business as usual. ...snip...

Can you point to just one post in this thread in which any member has suggested that islamic inspired terrorism isn't atrocious, barbaric and unforgivable?

Someone said something MEAN about muslims though? perish the thought, they're the real victims here. No apologism here, no sir.

Presumably you are being sarcastic so yet again: care to provide an actual example in this thread of anyone saying islamic terrorism isn't a scourge on all of humanity?

Are you not aware that you agree with the above? Your next sentence is "The point isn't if it happens every now and then." and then you say "I've already acknowledged that it does."

Can you tell me how many of my fellow citizens have to be killed by non-Muslim terrorism before I can be concerned about the issue?

Yes, from the last decade. Not hundreds of years ago, as you first tried to assert.

The point isn't if it happens every now and then. I've already acknowledged that it does.

Good, we're making progress.

The point is does it happen on the same scale?

Yes. Tens of thousands affected in Central Africa, as the above article notes. The Rohingya population in Buddhist Myanmar is on the verge of genocide.

Do you have state sanctioned terrorism or outright terrorist states? Find me the christian/buddhist/hindu analog of ISIS, hamas, muslim brotherhood, hezballa etc.

The Bodu Bala Sena (BBS - translated as the Buddhist Power Force) is a radical Sinhalese Buddhist nationalist organisation based in Colombo, Sri Lanka that was formed during 2012. The BBS seeks the enforcement of Buddhist predominance in Sri Lanka. (The BBS has held "rallies" which involved marching into Muslim areas shouting anti-Muslim slogans, pulling Muslims off of buses and beating them, burning Muslim shops, and stoning Muslim homes and a mosque)

Four of the five accused named in the Ajmer Dargah blast chargesheet filed by the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorist Squad have links with RSS [the Hindu supremacist groiup Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh], an ATS official said on Monday.

6 modern-day Christian terrorist groups our media conveniently ignores

Just for example.

Seriously? I don't know if I should laugh or weep at the level of delusion and apologia disguised as skepticism here.

Denialism is not skepticism either, you know.

Got it. To the apologists here this is all merely an academic, point scoring exercise. We'll score minuscule rhetorical points, claim victory, and ignore the real issue in the room which is islamic terrorism. And then you bellyache on why brexit happened and trump won!

It's not about point scoring, so don't worry on that account if your prejudices are exploded by these facts. It's about looking at the realities of religious backwardness and bigotry which can and do infect any religion.

But this is interesting. What have the success of Trump and Brexit got to do with this, in your opinion? Did they win because they have made it known that they think Islam is "a disgusting religion"?

You're the one that denied it was happening and demanded evidence for the fact that "violence, terrorism, and killings carried out in the name of pretty much every religion, not just Islam."

EDIT: I didn't even state that other religions are worse than Islam in this regard or anything, just pointed out that it's a problem that exists in other religions besides just Islam. But apparently even that is too much of a challenge to the notion that Islam is the Evilest Evil that ever Eviled or something, and so has to be vehemently denied.

Which of the 2600 syrians who died in the med do you specifically consider to be miniscule rhetorical points? Or did you just ignore that real issue claim victory and then bellyache?

Can you please provide a post from this thread of anyone apologising for islamic terrorism?

So far the only members I've seen in this thread being apologists for terrorism are yourself and McHrozni.

This is better in some ways, ridiculous in others.

Of course there is a level of protest among Muslims that would convince the non-Muslims that they don't really believe they should take Allah's commands seriously. The only question is what that level is, and can it be reached.<snip>

Where is this group of non-Muslims who believe they should take Allah's commands seriously and, seeing as they are non-Muslims, why would Muslim protestors sway their opinion on the matter?

I think he means "convince the non-Muslims that [Muslims] don't really believe [Muslims] should take Allah's commands seriously".

Because apparently it's insufficient for Muslims to declare that they don't think their religion actually tells them to be terrorists, they have to deny the validity of their religion as a whole (since man is that statement begging the question).

Well, I'm convinced. Other religions are just as bad if not worse than islam. Thanks skeptics!

To take a very cold view on this - the examples given are all within regional/national boundaries and the acts are indeed deplorable.

The difference with Islamic based terrorism is it that it is global. it is an ugly ideology that can threaten (and does) and harm anyone anywhere.

It's not so much "Islamic based terrorism" that's global as it is certain specific organizations that are. Other groups, like Boko Haram, are just as regional as the ones in the links above.

And in many Muslim lands there seems to be little unrest at all.

In any event these differences make nonsense of the suggestion that Muslims commit atrocities mainly because they are required by their holy scriptures to murder all non-Muslims.

Possibly, but all events mentioned regardless of their being regional and/or global can be rooted to the interpretations of deemed holy books and beliefs.

These holy books and beliefs therefore contain scripts that are interpreted to validate violence, killings, rapes etc.

That being so, they do not deserve any respect.

Why don't you quote the part that you think provides the proper context for you thinking I "want to be put in a gas chamber" because I "conclude Islam is not a source of problems"?

Moreover, gas chambers clearly recalling the Holocaust, it raises the question of whether the author of the quote believes that Jews were gassed because of some actions of their own, rather than because of rabid, irrational conspiratorial delusions and ethnic hatred stoked by bigots.
