Jason Miller pre-emptively resigns from White House Communications Director job after AJ Delgado hints he may be fathering a child with her.

Miller said in a statement that he wanted to spend more time with his family.

“It’s clear they need to be my top priority right now, and this is not the time to start a new job as demanding as White House communications director,” said Miller, whose wife is expecting their second child.

But AJ Delgado, a senior advisor in Trump’s transition team, posted several tweets hinting that Miller was at the center of a sex scandal.

“Congratulations to the baby-daddy on being named WH Comms Director!” she wrote in one now-deleted tweet.

“The 2016 version of John Edwards,” she wrote in another, referring to the disgraced ex-Democratic senator who fathered a child with his mistress.

The next four years are going to be a non-stop parade of conflicts of interest, sex scandals, foreign policy screw ups, blatant corruption, and civil rights infringements.

On that note, more than a few celebrities had announced their intentions to leave the country if Trump won.

Is anyone keeping a list of those actually making good on their promises?

Or is it like that "red line" in Syria - just something to say without ever a real intention of acting on it?

I guess they were as intent on leaving the country as Trump was intent on building a wall.

I've heard this line from a lot of conservatives, but the only sources I can find for this claim are all right wing rags known for falsehoods, like Breitbart. Do you have a list of celebs who actually said they would move, with quotes and all?

I ask because I see claims that Jon Stewart said he'd move based on if Donald Trump won the presidency, he'd be "getting in a rocket and going to another planet, because clearly this planet's gone bonkers." , or Jennifer Lawrence's "If Donald Trump becomes president, that will be the end of the world." Those are clearly not statements of intent to move, but they top the list of right wing claims of celebrities who will move.

Good point.

I don't think I've ever been to Breitbart intentionally, but about half of my Facebook friends are pretty right wing, so I may have picked up some of the accounts from there.

Let me see if any more neutral sites have compilations...

edited to add:

I have no idea the political leanings of Newsday, and the quotes from a lot of the celebrities are kinda vague, but it's a start...

The thing is that people with money can spend their time anywhere in the world they want without actually "leaving" the country, and their resources will protect them from Trump's depredations wherever they are. The people who will suffer most are the ones who will lose their health insurance if the ACA is killed and Medicaid is cut back, who will pay more at Walmart if tariffs are imposed, who will be cheated more if financial regulations are overturned, who will die more if health and safety laws are thrown out, etc., etc., etc., and they can't easily move abroad. Newt Gingrich has talked smugly about how he wants to turn the clock back to the pre-FDR era. And with a Republican Congress and Supreme Court, it could happen.

Those who aren't wealthy are going to suffer the most under the GOP/Trump administration. From the effects of global warming to economic struggles to medical issues, the poorest will suffer the most. The sad thing is, conservatives believe that the poor should suffer so they don't care.

Poor people are going to suffer the most from the effects of global warming under the Trump administration? Have you seriously thought that claim through, or are you just babbling? How, pray tell, are poor people going to suffer from global warming over the next 8 years?

Policies and actions (or lacktherof) put in place by your Cheetos fuhrer GOP "New King" will long outlast his reign.

Or did you think the EPA stopped being a thing after Nixon left?

So maybe poor people 50 years from now will suffer from the global warming the Trump administration failed to stop? Ok, but those poor people aren't the same poor people we have today. Even if they were, they wouldn't be suffering under the Trump administration. Maybe because of it, although delayed by several decades.

I think a better argument could be made that the poor do better if we put off paying for our future problems today. Reduced GDP and higher energy prices clearly hurts the poor disproportionately. Do you really think they would want to have a lower standard of living today, so that the future poor (and rich) might have a higher standard of living 50 years hence?

Its not about standard of living.
It's about living.

It's always about standard of living, because it is always possible to redirect resources towards survival. The important question is how many resources you have available to redirect.

Well if Trump has enough for a giant wall plus maintenance, or a few more nukes, you would think the US has a few resources for survival to spare.

You're not that dumb, sunmaster14. AGW is a problem NOW.

If you disagree, then consider the latency problem. If you (meaning everyone) puts of dealing with AGW until it is a crises, then it will be impossible to fix. The horse will have left the barn ... and other such metaphors. CO2 and methane will continue to bake the planet for centuries after they are released.

Back on point - I hope...

Just saw this on Twitter:

Options:

1) Trump is now referring to himself in the third person, or...

2) Surrogates are posting on his behalf, albeit clumsily.

Seems like the latter would weaken the "power" of his direct line to the people.

But the former is pretty creepy.

Play on "Thanks Obama!"?
