Mine-shaft gap? that's a new one on me. Explanation please

It highlights the problem of an imbalance in the number of mine shafts between the US and its adversaries. Mine shafts being required as shelters for the surviving parts of the population during an all out nuclear war. An enemy with a greater number of mine shafts, and thus greater number of survivors, might be able to take over the US when conditions are safe to repopulate the surface.

Sure.

But to be fair, Russia is not the only other nuclear power, and Trump referenced "the world" coming to its senses, not just Russia. He may have been thinking of Iran, among others, as possible nuclear threats.

Not meaning to defend his stance, just trying to clarify it.
I don't think you've succeeded; not your fault, because Trump isn't making sense. How many more nuclear weapons than it already possesses does the USA require to meet any imaginable threat from Iran?

Trump official Paladino under fire over crude Obama remarks

Carl Paladino, a co-chair of President-elect Donald Trump's New York campaign, is facing a backlash over crude remarks about Barack and Michelle Obama.

Asked by a newspaper what he would most like to happen in 2017, Mr Paladino said he hoped President Obama would die from mad cow disease and the first lady would "return to being a male".

Underlining usually means it's a link. Not always, because posters can also underline, but links will show up as underlined.

Trees are a renewable resource, and so called "old growth" cedars are a dime a dozen. ....
OMG! That's one of the most naive comments I've heard in a long while.

Not to mention, of course, some gung-ho Trump supporting city official had no right to harvest an old growth tree from a city park because his enthusiasm got away with him.

Shouldn't the one saving grace of his desire to be shamelessly sycophantic to Putin be a reduction in nuclear arms. Why do both countries need to increase their arsenal if the relationship is supposed to be amicable and not adversarial?
Plays well to their constituencies plus it gives good cover for massive corruption and over spends.

Someone should let them know:

“A nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought. The only value in our two nations possessing nuclear weapons is to make sure they will never be used. But then would it not be better to do away with them entirely?”

At last, someone else that likes Barry Lyndon.

Now available Trump Bunkers, live your last weeks of life in the comfort of your very own Trump bunker!

Yeah, but they're really just storage sheds from Home Depot with Trump's name painted on the side. And you have to assemble them yourself.
