Brexit: Now What? Part II

This article post on the BBC website a few days ago is germane to the argument about what did people vote for when they voted for Brexit:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-37989728
Ah, voters...
People "almost universally support" the UK staying in the EU single market after Brexit - while also wanting new migration controls, research suggests.
Really is the idea of an intelligence test or exam before being allowed to vote such a bad idea?

There is a mandate to stop paying into the EU. There is a mandate to stop free movement. Those were two of the main campaign issues.

They were but you have no evidence that there is a mandate for either position. There was evidence that some people voted Leave solely to get another £350m a week for the NHS, some people who voted leave did not want to stop free movement and a number of Leave spokespeople said that some level of contribution to EU coffers would be a perfectly acceptable price to pay for continued membership of the EEA.

Providing that EEA membership is free and doesn't come with free movement strings attached then yes, it could be acceptable to remain in the EEA.

Says you.

It seems that you are projecting your own personal position regarding Brexit onto all Leave voters.

The mythical "$350M per week" was also a campaign issue. Does it being a lie therefore invalidate the result?

Sigh. You have no understanding of what the EEA is, or what membership entails, do you?

If you actually knew what are you babbling about, you'd know this post is thoroughly and totally false with not a single correct statement.

You have no clue about anything. Not even basics like what's EEA.

You're just one ignorant poster who would fit well into USA population...

Then the EEA is out for you by definition.

Except there is no mandate according to the high court.
That's the core of the issue. A whole laundry list of promises and reassurances were offered to get people to vote leave. Now May and her merry band of Brexiteers want to take the 'leave' vote as a mandate to discard those reassurances and promises and negotiate whatever deal they feel like. Not entirely surprising the courts said that was not allowed.

Great to see Paul Nuttalls of UKIP now appointed leader to sort this mess out. He seems like a sensible enough chap and hopefully he can help straighten things out. He definitely doesnt come across as a thick as pig **** knuckledragging right wing loon who hates foreigners and muslims and homosexuals and lefties and experts and scientists and anyone blessed with three or more braincells. Not at all.

Like much of politics there really is no room left for satire, any satire today would be less than the reality!

Maybe market it as documentary..>

Is it sarcastic statement about him?

Really? I could swear that the referendum question was: "Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?"

Nothing about about not paying the EU or immigration there.

No, it's his stated position.
Homosexuality is a sin 'gay rights' and the laws protecting and promoting them should be scrapped, abortion shoukd be illegal and the NHS should be privatised.
Also thinks Global Warming is a hoax, the housing stock should be taken back from foreign owners, muslims are all terrorists, foreigners should be persuaded to leave the country etc.
Wants to see the Labour party destroyed and UKIP replacing them as a party for Patriotic Workers that will destroy the Tory Elites.

He is an MEP. Guess where his career will go post Brexit. Just like Farage, he took an elected post in an organisation he wanted no part of for reasons he is unable to explain. Don't ask me to explain that, Farage and co. cannot. Why should I?

My favourite bit is when he said the burqa should be banned and then said without a hint of irony that people should be free to practicetheir religion without pc interference.

Guess which religion the bigots he supports weren't?
