President Trump

Many of the articles i am reading now, in the aftermath of the election and the formative stage of Trump's presidency, keep making references to 'loyalists'. That chills my blood.
Being from an African country, i'm much more familiar with the term as it relates to cabinet, and other powerful state positions, than i would like.

Trump's preference for sycophants and yes men does not bode well.

Yeah, as someone else here said, Trump drained the swamp right into his cabinet.

I really think Trump just wanted to be the "capo dei capi". It was a prize to win and not much else it's not like thed guy has any actual principles.
Yes, I somehow don't think Trump will be a particularly hands-on President anyway; if we thought George W's 500 days vacation over four years was a lot, wait until you see Donald's vacation plans.
Meanwhile, if space aliens land somewhere public between now and January 20th then that's fine by me.

Regarding the "N" word...

How much of that is just political correctness, now that trump was elected they might not feel the need to bow to political correctness as much.

Don't know.

I now live very close to Copperhill, TN. one of the last holdout bastions of the Klan. Lots of confederate flags.

I've heard the "n" word exactly twice in the last 11 years. Once at Ace Hardware where an employee was referred to as "Jimmy the "n"". Once at a grocery where I was told passing a kidney stone hurt as much as an ""n" lady birthin' two babies at once (!)".

No point, really, just anecdotes. Racism may by bubbling away right under the surface. There may even be clandestine Klan meetings. There are certainly not many black people around. But whatever racism there is is pretty effectively hidden, at least from people like us.

So I have heard it a lot more in the NYC area from white coworkers. One was ranting about the Fing N's. The other was about Ner proofing equipment.

But I hear a lot more racism that is about how bad black communities are and such.

In the 1980's I told an aircraft mechanic on Long Island I was taking my daughter to see that movie about Martin Luther King. He said, "You mean, Martin Lucifer Coon!".

But still, it seems a case of "the exception proves the rule" if I can only recall a handful of examples from decades of life spent largely in the South.

Not really, lots of liberals are far more racist than they want to believe. Why do you think New York is number one in the country in school segregation? I have friends who found the north west to be far more racist than the deep south. The wording is often somewhat different but when you are locking black people out of the schools your kids go to, does it really matter if you use racial epithets or not?

There is far too much emphasis placed on racial epithets and not enough on doing substantive helpful changes that makes people think they can't be racist.

Okay. That jives with what I've seen - less than 700,000 difference. But it does say that it "could" exceed 2 million, but it links to something on a site I can't access.

That link says 668,483. Not 2 million.

But it's so close you might as well just say two million.

Because it is important to give the rural states disproportionate power for some reason. One man one vote is horribly horribly unethical.

2 million only if you're into weasel words.

Stay tuned. It's now up another 20,000. Started out around 450,000 the morning after the election. When the rest of the absentee ballots come in and are counted you can come back and pick out the weasel words for us.

My source was The Atlantic who reported that there are upwards of 3 to 4 million of those uncounted but that they make no difference because they're in states Hilary won, chiefly WA, CA, NY. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics...-popular-vote-lead-will-grow-and-grow/507455/

Using numbers the Trump way. Remember the exact numbers never matter as long as the constituency hears what they want to hear.

I wonder how many illegals voted? Do you think it might be in the millions?

Probably less than the number you employ.

Not at all. They chose to endorse a racist and white nationalist, they knew that and chose to endorse him. They might have voted for other things but being racist, sexist and wanting to commit war crimes was not a deal breaker for them. That is an endorsement. The people painting make america white again are right about that.

They endorsed a racist. That is an endorsement of racism.

Why do you think racism is the most important metric? They voted for a pussy grabbing serial sex offender who flat out lied to the public "all those women are lying" to save us from Hillary's Husband.

They voted for a repeatedly bankrupt businessman to operate one of the largest single economic entities in the world.

They voted for a man who insulted his fellow republicans to lead the Republican Party.

They voted for a man who can't string 38 words together into a single thought without telling a lie, using weasel words or contradicting himself to speak to leaders of the world.

They voted for a man who wonders why we can't use nukes to impliment foreign policy.

They voted for a man who has repeatedly cheated on his wives to represent the party which holds itself up more moral than the Other guys.

They voted for a man who shenaniganed his way out of paying income taxes for years to fix our economy.

Thy voted for a man with diamond encrusted doors on his "mansion" apartment to represent the working man.

Racism might be your "single issue" issue. It's only one of a basket load of issues for which he should be not elected but flogged.

Trump voters cannot be all called "racist" any more than they can be excoriated for any one thing.

Trump voters voted, variously, for Republicans over Democrats, against Hillary, for the penis-haver, against Obama's weak foreign policies, for responding to fear-threat with violence, against the Made In China economy, for blaming Mexico and China for 20th century global economic balance shifts, against the vague undefined threat of ISIS, for conservative Supreme Court nominees, against Slick's willy and Anthony's wiener, but for "rape charges have been withdrawn."

Oversimplification of the problem will result in incorrect solutions.

If you don't like the results, Get Out The Vote!

Well that is splendid, I should be able to power my whole house and shop, you?
I have 660 watt worth of panels on my rv powering lights, TV, microwave and recharging electronic devices. I'm limited by roof space. Before adding the solar panels, I used my generator, now I only run it once a month for maintenance. It is not practical for my condo.

Doubtful you could go off grid as your shop probably uses a lot of power. Most residents don't use very much. The biggest issues involve timing and storage or batteries. Growth of Solar power usage in rural areas far outpaces it's adoption in the cities. My brother has 10,000 watts of grid tied solar. He use to pay $500 a month in electric bills, now half the time he gets paid for the juice he generates through net metering. During the day his meter is always running backwards.

I don't think overt racism hasn't been very acceptable in most circles for a long time. That doesn't mean that racist attitudes don't persist, It is more subversive bubbling up front underneath. I thought Obama's election changed that. I definitely heard more although the N word still seems to be for the most part verboten.

Because you chose to put it up here, knowing it was likely ******** but you figured you'd take another pot shot at HRC.

Are you even following the thread? Somebody asked if anyone was claiming that illegals had voted for Hillary. My post was a response to that question. Jesus Christ, talk about jumping to conclusions. "Take another pot shot at HRC"? I've never even talked about Hillary on this board, except to say that I thought Trump was more likely to win than she was.

Curious why you would think this. Trump has a reputation for not wanting to delegate, and for not taking much time off. What makes you think he'll suddenly become different in those regards?

There you go, again! Making up facts easily disproved. I'll see you the 2010 census and raise you the 2020 version, coming soon to an increasingly darkening district near you!

The U.S. Census report that NOT BY PERCENTAGE, but by NUMBER, non-white births achieved a majority of births in the USA as of 2011. The CDC puts that date in 2013. Whichever it is....

Non white? Are you another racist from the left?
You better get to some deporting. Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.

I can't, but the guy I voted for certainly can. ;)
You got some anecdotal studies to disprove the above? I know, you know a guy who knows a guy in your district who has eight kids, right? The same district with only well-off conservative black people and exceedingly intelligent ex-military(conservatives, of course). Did I miss any other "facts" you've offered from The World Book of Logger?

Sure, just as many as you.
Oh, and guess what? When you kill off Roe V. Wade, those numbers go higher.

Life is precious to me, so it certainly would be great.

Rudy Giulaini for Secretary of State? The stupid orange one fails again.

Actually it would be a great choice, and of course he can do it because he WON! ;)

Sorry about your luck and your truly stupid candidate.
