Maybe the federal government should consider handling this sort of thing, then.

That would be interfering in the States' right to organise their own voting rules and regulation. Another example of the Federal jackboot of oppression crushing the federal ideals of the U.S.

edited to add....

I don't know who on this board first brought it up but characterising the US as a third world nation with a first world economy whilst wildly hyperbolic does seem to have some truth when it comes to some electoral practices, levels of income and wealth inequality and prevailing opinion among large swathes of the electorate when it comes matters like healthcare, welfare and universal standards of policing.

Yeah I know this would somewhat go against the "states rights" principle but since we're talking about a presidential election, it could be argued that it should be handled by the feds.

Yes, they should. With the Supreme Court.

If state legislators can't be trusted to ensure everybody has the same opportunity for the most basic of American rights, then take it away from them.

Gosh, that sucks. Here in Canada in the last couple of elections I waited no more than 5 minutes in line. And the booths were within 10 minute walking distance from home.

I just sat at my dining room table, filled out my ballot, stuck a stamp on the envelope, and dropped it in the box when I picked up my mail. Two weeks ago.

We had quite a wait!

All the people ahead of me were at the wrong polling station or ineligible to vote (lots of sad potential Clinton supporters there!)

Here is to a TRiUMPhant election!

:)

True, you could but I suspect you'd be fighting a losing battle. Personally I there's lots about the U.S. electoral process that seems outdated and/or needlessly complicated but the U.S. is strangely conservative when it comes to matters like this.

Everything to do with the election, the primaries process, the way that most states are all or nothing while others have districts that can go to different candidates is state-dependent.

Write in Bernie Sanders!

then

Go Trump!

What a joke. You can't possibly think that you're fooling even a single person.

Mrs Don did that but as far as we know it's been sitting in the USPS office in Trenton N.J. for nearly 2 weeks

It was sent registered delivery (to be signed for) from the UK.

I think that's the GOP's point, to get long lines in areas where there's a large minority vote and so suppress turnout. In GOP voting areas there will be proportionally far more polling stations with longer opening hours, justified by *reasons*

Remember, retired people have nothing else to do today and can readily stand in line. And who do you think they vote for?

Yes, that such blatant misinformation could get any traction, even among a group as uninformed as the Right Wing Echo-chamber, is indeed stomach turning. ;)

wait, you are on the "actual copies of actual emails are misinformation" conspiracy bandwagon too?

wow.

What Hillary said in secret to Goldman Sachs is teh "misinformations"!

Oh mercy, thanks for checking in.

are there any actual Americans other than me posting in this thread?

Lets see a show of hands.
