1. sober up - become sober after excessive alcohol consumption; "Keep him in bed until he sobers up"

2. sober up - become more realistic; "After thinking about the potential consequences of his plan, he sobered up"

Very "curious" that one would pick one of the two main definitions, yes.

Gee, I'm sure there's only one interpretation of that one, especially when you start with the idea that she's a drunkard.

Tell you what, why don't you go fetch a more solid source that's not open to interpretation, and we'll talk. You know, as if we were on a skeptics' site.

Not that it will matter as Hawaii is solid, but it will be my little contribution.
