Ah, those Podesta mails keep giving. Here's a gem from today's batch, February 2016, subject: Re: Friendly advice. No Mercy

No Mercy with Bernie, that is. Stick the knife in him, Podesta agrees, after being reminded that

If that is true, my opinion of the FBI as an investigative group has dropped considerably.

It's hard to imagine that an organization born and nurtured by the hands of such a man of character and integrity as J. Edgar Hoover, has fallen this far.

He must be turning in his grave.

I understand your experience base may not include free elections between career politicians, but this isn't bad behaviour, or bad politics, or even unusual politics over here. We consider politics to be a bloodless blood sport. What offends or outrages whoever scripts the KT talking points doesn't actually bother us.

And what is wrong with it?

The scenario is that there's at least one classified document on Weiner's unsecure laptop, that only got there though Hillary's carelessness.

Or there isn't.

FBI investigation ongoing.

It wouldn't be Clinton carelessness because of the server. The .gov email it was meant to replace was an unclassified server. Even if she didn't do the stupid server thing, huma would have still emailed her yahoo account.

I already sent in my ballot so any new bombshells can't affect my vote either way. I voted for Clinton for full disclosure.

The thing about Brazile sending the email and giving them the question in advance has bugged me. I really wish that the person who received that email had replied, "Thanks for the heads up, we know your heart is in the right place but this isn't how we want to run our campaign. Beside we have been prepping for a water question from day one." I don't think we know what, if any response was sent.

At the end of the day the Clinton campaign did not steal the question, hack into CNN's computers, or in any other way attempt to gain this info - it was given to them. They didn't try to coerce or force Brazile to give them inside information, Brazile contacted them and gave them one bit of fairly obvious info one time. It seems the motivation here was all on Brazile, the actions taken were all Brazile, and we can be reasonable certain the campaign was prepping for just such a question given the location. A town hall in California might focus on drought or wild fires instead of drinking water.

Had there been any response from the campaign encouraging this behavior I think you could then fault Clinton. Just as Trump can simply disavow the endorsements of white nationalist because he can't stop them from endorsing him, Hillary can't be held accountable for Brazile's actions. As it only happened once we can be reasonably assured the campaign either thought so little of the info they never acted or they did make an effort to make sure it never happened again.

On the surface it seems outragous but in reality its quite petty and not Clinton's fault that someone close to the situation thought they were being helpful when they weren't.

This of course pales in comparison to the numerous actions trump has taken in his personal and business life which make him unqualified.

Again, how would Abedin sending a classified email to Weiner or Abedin downloading a classified email onto Weiner's laptop be counted as "Hillary's carelessness?" Please explain.

She's a WITCH! They just need to find some evidence to prove it.

Why not just use the standard water test to see if she floats? And finding someone that she turned into a newt should not be too hard. I bet the trump camp has lots of newts.

He would be turning in his Grave that Conmyn was so inept and obvious about what he did. Hoover, when he wanted to influence politics, was a lot subtler.

'The FBI is Trumpland': anti-Clinton atmosphere spurred leaks, sources say

The currently serving FBI agent said Clinton is “the antichrist personified to a large swath of FBI personnel,” and that “the reason why they’re leaking is they’re pro-Trump.”

The agent called the bureau “Trumplandia,” with some colleagues openly discussing voting for a GOP nominee who has garnered unprecedented condemnation from the party’s national security wing and who has pledged to jail Clinton if elected.

...

Sources who disputed the depth of Trump’s internal support agreed that the FBI is now in parlous political territory. Justice department officials – another current target of FBI dissatisfaction – have said the bureau disregarded longstanding rules against perceived or actual electoral interference when Comey wrote to Congress to say it was reviewing newly discovered emails relating to Clinton’s personal server.

This is a disturbing report.

That changes things a bit, especially this part:
News of the internal investigation is at odds with the FBI’s official position, which is that the Twitter account followed all FBI procedures.

“Per the standard procedure for FOIA, these materials became available for release and were posted automatically and electronically to the FBI’s public reading room in accordance with the law and established procedures,” the FBI said in a statement.

This is why I've been saying for a couple years that Hillary would be a Democratic Party strategy mistake: too much mud in the air already.

Indeed. If this is the best Wikileaks can come out with in the last stages of the campaign, there ain't any bombshells out there.

This is revealing a deeper cultural issue within the FBI that is only exacerbated by Clinton. It's come to light that they are conducting "investigations" based on fevered conspiracy theories and leaking the fact that they are "investigating". They're literally witch hunting operating solely with a presumption of guilt. I think any candidate that wasn't pro-FBI would be bearing the brunt of their rage.
