You watched the debate.
The American public watched the debate.
The members of this forum, foreign and domestic watched the debate.
The BBC watched the debates.
The Straits Times watched the debates.
Only one of those categories think Trump won.

Who's seeing what they want to see?

Unemployment is down to below 5% from 7.8%, adjusted for inflation wages are up by 4.4%, gas is cheap, inflation is low, interest rates are low, violent crime and murder rates are near the lowest levels in more than 60 years, the Dow Jones Industrial average is up by nearly double, corporate profits are up 166%, neighborhoods aren't being destroyed like they were 7 years ago, major companies aren't going into bankruptcy, oil production in the US is up 87%, natural gas production has soared, Obama has deported more individuals than any president in history, and illegal immigration is down.

All of the has been accomplished under a president that isn't a sexual pervert, race baiting, *******. Your theory is that a race baiting, sexual predator, torture advocating, violence promoting grifter that has left a string of scams and failed businesses in his wake is somehow the answer to the problems you think the US has. Nice.

One of the things that your savior proposes is to eliminate the EPA (environmental department as he calls it) and this is going to unleash the coal business to new and untold levels of greatness. Really? Does this mean he is going to eliminate controls on acid emissions and mercury? Does this mean he's going to eliminate regulations on water contamination? Does this mean he is going to univent fracking? Does this mean he is going to univent the technological advances in coal mining that have radically reduced the demand for coal miners? Maybe it means he's going to univent LED light bulbs. No, of course not. What it means is that he hasn't thought about this or is just lying about it. Either possibility should be enough to make you rethink the possibility that Trump should be president.

Don't you think there is a supreme arrogance about some guy in South Africa determining which points one, and only one, of the US presidential candidates should have covered in the debate? Don't you think that there is no credibility in attacking one candidate for not covering those points, when neither did? I watched parts of the debate and I missed some things. Did Trump say how he will force convicted illegals back to their country of origin?

You should read some earlier comments about how Trump uses only personal insults and avoids policy. Is the "high road" not about policy?

Polls. Everyone is pretending to be holier than thou. Voting may be different. I will wait and see.

The USA will get the President that it deserves. Should Hillary win, I will wait for "buyers remorse" as Trump continues his campaign for a better America.

If I were to take a SWAG at that I'd say that the campaign will be devoted to lessening the power, prestige, and/or fortunes of those that opposed him¹. The guy really likes getting even with those he classifies as enemies.

Lastly, is it really buyers remorse when one says "I am not happy with Clinton. not happy at all. Still, it would have been worse with Trump." As was pointed out upthread, every newspaper and periodical that endorsed a candidate endorsed the same candidate. A first in modern US politics. Even right-leaning newspapers described Trump as unfit and ill prepared to serve as president. I know some folks like to describe Clinton as "the worst candidate in the history of the United States," but if she is that bad, how did she get right-leaning newspapers to assert that Trump is worse.

Be a skeptic at least once in a while.
It is a valid point in so far as even if DT doesn't win, it has opened a possible window for another round in which a smarter version of the DT-version might win; i.e a "Hitler" type.

I'm an Okie, long used to the Daily Oklahoman's very conservative opinions. I think they've improved in recent years, but they once used to edit AP stories to reflect the conservative viewpoint.

So imagine my surprise when I surfed over to their site and found this, from a longtime Oklahoman contributor. I was looking for evidence that at least this paper endorsed Trump, but I suppose not.

I think it was in this or the comments an argument that Both Left and Right wing populism promote a narrative of "the people" against "the elite" but that right wing also promotes a narrative against a third party of scapegoats.

My guess is, Trump or his handlers wanted him to appear in the background to emphasize the height difference. Until now, this difference has been minimized by camera angles and special podiums. It may seem like a nitpick, especially since a female candidate is expected to be shorter, but historically height has been an issue in presidential elections.
