The usual internet blah blah has some good news for the popcorn manufacturers of America....

Trump has thrown out (at least out of Trump Tower) his "international" advisors like The Mighty Flynn and the m.i.a. vice-presidential candidate and is concentrating his advice from Mercer/Breitbart SWAT team members and lapdogs.

He is surrounded by the founding members of the We Hate The Clintons With a Purple Passion Club. Bannon, Conway, Bossie. And the guy who could pull the plug... Reince, who's now battling to keep his own job as much as trying to hold the Orange Demolition Derby together. Oh, and Chris Christie... they need someone to fetch drinks, I guess. My money's on the Mercer mercenaries. They will have him prepped to respond to any question with "Juanita Broadderick!"

It could be grand and glorious fun. The task for Trump is simple. Don't fall off the stage or offer anyone a Tic Tac. He's not fighting to win the election any longer (although I'm sure Kellyanne will try to put a brave face on it) but to at least keep the deplorables on his side. They're not concerned about picking up points; they're concerned about losing even more.

Trump is approaching the "if I'm going down, I'm taking you all with me" stage.

What he should do is be a perfect gentleman, apologize a lot and try to steer the debate towards policies.

But we know that won't happen: being what he considered nice last time didn't help him, so he will go all guns blazing.

What are the odds on Trump having apoplexy when Clinton hits him with a homer?

Don't know, but it would be great - except we need him to stay alive and apparently healthy until election day!!! And Pence to go out with him!!!

Question I really want to hear asked...

"Mr Trump. With your past history of comments about and attitudes towards women, how do you plan to form a working relation with some of the US's most important allies, lead by Prime Minister Theresa May, Chancellor Angela Merkel, and President Park Geun-hye?"

He'll grab them by their pussies.

Clinton would be wise to avoid the subject for at least two reasons. First, it would be handing Trump the opportunity to point out that she was Bill's enabler, which makes her one of least qualified people the Democrats could have put up to ever be claiming to take women's side and respect women. And second, there are other aspects of the Presidency for which he's equally bad or worse, which that would be a distraction from.

The main Trumper I get FaceBook updates from has been posting memages for quite a while that all generally say that the problems with Trump are what he's said and the problems with Clinton are what she's done. They're not even bothering to try to defend his words because they truly believe that actions speak louder and the choice we have here is between actions and words. The way to attack that is not to pile on more of his words that they already don't care about; it's to highlight his incompetence for the actiony parts of the Presidency. (For example, why have no TV ads shown him talking about committing an act of war and mass-murder of foreign sailors for some gestures they made toward an American ship?)

Do they not realise that what Donald said was describing his committing sexual assault? You couldn't get a better confession using the Mr. Big (Canadian Technique).

Why am I reminded of Hitler in the bunker with his last few aides as their world collapses around them?

At the very least, she absolutely should not be throwing the first punch with regard to this topic. Let Trump bring it up, if he dares, and then simply point out the absurdity of it:

"Are you honestly suggesting to America that they should not vote for the wife of a man you've accused of committing sexual assault, but should instead vote for a man who has admitted to, and even bragged about, actually committing what could reasonably be described as sexual assault against a married woman?"

I think that's exactly right. And we know from the last debate that Clinton knows how to keep these things in reserve and bring them up at the right time such as the "miss piggy" attack line. She also knows how to goad Trump and she knows Trump is pretty hopeless when it comes to self-control.

My only worry is that Clinton has a coughing fit, and a throat-botox should prevent that.

Does she proceed with the handshake / fake smile ritual? (And then apply hand sanitizer at her podium?) Or shun him for being a criminal deviant?
