Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

It occurs to me, though, that it seems likely there will come a point where he looks at the polls and sees no chance of winning.
I don't think that will ever happen. Sadly, the race is close enough that he (especially) and his staff can spin the results to a win.

At that point, what will he do? I'm guessing he'll go full bore crazy negative on her, throwing out everything and the kitchen sink. It should be entertaining to watch, especially the GOP reaction.

At that point, how would we know? I agree with you that he's going to get nasty at the 2nd and (worse?) the 3rd debates. Plus, the crap he'll throw at the wall during the post-debate spin cycle. After all that, what's left? Explicitly calling her a whore? By that time, nobody is going to be listening.

I've mentioned the comparison before but it is worth bringing up again ('cuz no one acknowledge it the first time, I guess), but this is like Reggie the Insult Comic (Dave Chapelle) trashing Professor Klump and then being taken down by Buddy Love.

Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra.

From Tony's quote from that url:

....which he “spent 50 percent of my thought process” dealing with...
Where's my slide rule? What's 50 percent of a nano-thought?

More seriously, like so many other ways this has manifested, he spent half his thought processes on his mic during the most important 90 minutes of his campaign? Maybe of his adult life. And that points to his presidential timbre, how?

Tax story is interesting...might help sway some swing voters, but probably just solidifies him as a post-tea party candidate. Most Americans hate paying taxes, so seeing Trump get away with a billion loss and still be filthy rich is kind of a dream for a lot of people. I detest his candidacy and even I'm sort of impressed at how he played the system to his advantage.

There might be a silver lining here. Maybe this revelation will create a push for at least some reform of the tax code.

In fact, if HRC is smart, she will bring this up in the debates and promise that such favorable treatment of the wealthy will be changed during her administration.

Agree--I think she should do just that. However, Trump cold deflect the criticism by truthfully stating (as he already has) that he was just using the rules to his advantage--his 'skill' as a businessman (really his accountant's skill). I imagine most of his supporters see him as someone who would attempt to simplify the tax code, which ironically would eliminate all the write-offs and loopholes. For the average American, tax complexity is more of a concern than who is paying what. Most Americans get refunds, so they care more about the financial and time investment hassle of preparing the returns.

Donald posted this back in 2012.

He's one of them and he's allegedly a multibillionaire!

No wonder he's not on the Christmas Card list for the Romneys.....

He's One of the Forty-Seven Per Cent of the takers. Just lining up for free stuff from the government.

This.

IMO, many Republicans think that the American Revolution itself was all about taxes being evil, rather than the fact of citizens having no political voice. "Tyranny" is now any policy that attempts to set up a working government, or tries to pass laws that should be respected by white males (laws are only for controlling minorities and foreign "aliens"). As for political voice, Republicans actively strive to deny specifically that to non-whites, confirming a simple truth about, sadly, a very large number of Americans: the Constitution is a document of white entitlement, and has nothing to do with any broad principles of any kind.

The Donald is all about winning.

And there is nothing more winning than loosing nearly one billion dollars while having the US tax payers pay for it while complaining about the marital status of Hillary Clinton.

I'm picturing an elaborate investigation to find the duplicate key someone made to the file cabinet containing his tax returns.

Great, now I can't get the picture out of my head of DT fidgeting with some steel balls while he claims to prove everything with "geometric logic" in between some Mussolini type smirking pauses .

Thanks Armitage72!

Wow, seriously, voter vigilantism?!?!?

— He told the crowd to get a group of friends together on Election Day, vote and then go to “certain areas” and “watch” the voters there. "I hear too many bad stories, and we can't lose an election because of you know what I'm talking about,” Trump said. “So, go and vote and then go check out areas because a lot of bad things happen, and we don't want to lose for that reason.”

'Hey, after you and your friends vote for me, go to another polling place and see if you can intimidate other voters'

It could be very serious.

Note he doesn't say "stay at your polling place and watch the voters there". They'll mostly be voters just like them - white. No, they should go where they can watch people who aren't white like them.
