Presidential Debates

To define what a share means? That is the first step. You should be able to do that without any tax information.

I had two question marks in my post. Neither of them need tax returns to answer.

OK. A fair share for everyone is 15% of income. No marginal rates. I need to see Trump's tax return before I can determine if he paid his 15% or if he offset that amount by helping the country. I would guess not. But guesses are worth nothing in this thread. So, now do I have a valid reason for asking for the returns?

Despite the fact that Lester Holt was wildly biased, twitter is absolutely blowing up with the hashtag:

#trumpwon!

The big take away was people thought that Lester "scored" with the whole Iraq War debacle until they realized that Hillary actually voted for it!

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!

Donald, donald, donald

"And that, my liege, is how we know the world to be banana shaped."

Yes. I am also surprised by your commitment to raise taxes on millions of Americans with a regressive flat tax.

Also, I wasn't saying we should not see his returns. But proposing a fair share standard can be done without anyone's tax returns.

Let me provide a better answer. Trump has said that billionaires should pay 33% of income. Democrats believe the fair share for billionaires is no less than 33%. So, let's use 33% as a floor. Now , do we have a valid reason to see if Trump, who claims to make 100s of million dollars, paid his fair share (33%) through direct or indirect payments?

Screw polls?

Donald loves them:

Most snap polls show Trump winning the debate by a landslide
CNN awarded Hillary Clinton an overwhelming victory in the first presidential debate - but most snap polls show Trump emerged victorious.

It turns out the CNN poll was rigged as hell.
The polls quoted by Trump supporters tend to be on-line polls, many of which allow people to vote as many times as they want.

While the CNN poll was partly flawed, it was still more representative than the on-line polls.

Meanwhile, from: http://www.people.com/article/donal...sidential-debate-online-polls-hillary-clinton
Republican pollster Frank Luntz conducted a focus group of undecided voters in Pennsylvania. Sixteen said Hillary Clinton won; five picked Trump
...
In a Florida focus group organized by CNN, 18 of 20 undecided voters picked Clinton as the winner.
...
Eight in 10 insiders in the key battleground states thought Clinton performed better, including 57 percent of Republicans, according to the Politico Caucus survey.

Don't listen to them, tbg. Just keep repeating "trumpwon, trumpwon, trumpwon!"

Say it 165 times & it'll be true.

Oh, and click your heels. You'll be back in Kansas before you know it.

When Trump said that not paying taxes ‘makes me smart,’ undecided voters in N.C. gasped

But Trump’s response Monday night when Hillary Clinton accused him of not paying a cent of federal tax left Townley appalled.

“That makes me smart,” Trump said, unapologetic and smiling, during the presidential debate.

That comment caused a gasp in the hotel conference room where Townley and a half-dozen other undecided voters in this battleground state were watching the debate.

“That’s offensive. I pay taxes,” said Townley, 52, a program director for a local council of governments.

“Another person would be in jail for that,” agreed Jamilla Hawkins, 33, who was sitting beside him in the Crescent conference room of the Embassy Suites in this city of 150,000 near Raleigh

I posted before seeing your response.

Yes. I am also surprised by your commitment to raise taxes on millions of Americans with a regressive flat tax.

I was looking at it as an opening bid for discussions rather than a hill to die on.

Wait. I want to change my response to I was being sarcastic. [stagewhisper]I really wasn't.[/stagewhisper]

OK.
Based on my last post, let's start with 33% because neither party is proposing anything less.

Lester Holt runs interference for Hillary on stop and frisk and wildly oversells the point he was making.

Who is his running mate anyway?

I have been having a lot of fun this morning watching Faux News. After struggling last night they have really circled the wagons. Talking head after talking head paraded on this AM to praise Trump. Repeated soundbites are, "Looked Presidential", "wanted to show people that they can envision him as a strong President", "crushed this debate", and so forth. My favorite was "anyone who watched the debate had to come away thinking how great he was". As the only English language channel that I receive, Fox is all I can watch for coverage... sigh

It might have been objective. He might have called Clinton out in the exact same manner if she proposed a law which was ruled unconstitutional.

(Mostly j/k)
