Hillary Clinton is Done: part 3

This election has really been an eye opener.

It has indeed.

People tend to associate their personal identity too closely with whichever team they support such that they essentially see themselves as that team.

It's amazing, isn't it? It's not just political teams, people make up a whole bunch of random "social group definitions" to do the same with. Such as nations, races, genders, classes, etc.

When their team is criticized, the person feels as if they were personally attacked and there is a powerful emotional response resulting in a knee-jerk need to defend themselves and their team even when the criticism may be valid.

They condition themselves to identify with these "groups" they define. As I understand it, in the US people are drilled from childhood to salute some piece of cloth and identify with it. Fascinating also how it's people who most go along with this "praise the piece of cloth!" who then turn around and go on about their "freedom" - it's truly Orwellian.

I have no illusion that I've rid myself completely of bias, or that I ever will, but I think with everything that's happened over the last year and a half I've reduced my bias against Republicans, and reduced my bias in favor of Democrats, if only a little.

I've further reduced my bias in favour of politicians, though it's still way too much.

Here's a "funny" show Rotten Clinton was willing to show up for. The scripting is breathtakingly obvious and the effect will be counterproductive. Just not fun at all (except maybe for the "I once took LSD 40 years ago which still makes me cool today - do you want me to tell you the name of that plant in the background"-crowd).

That was painful to watch.

Come on. What about the line about for the youngest, she'll be the first white President?

As secretary, how fast can you type?

LOL!! I thought it was funny. Because I know it's supposed to be dry.

Clinton is a thin-skinned narcissist, obviously.

Proof!

Did you notice she totally froze when he came up to her in that scary mask? Anyone else would have jump round-house kicked him in the head and smashed one of those ferns on his lifeless body. Trump would have, what with his being an alpha-male and all.

Hillary? She FROZE! Must be the pneumonia.

I agree that it was funny. Very funny actually. And Hillary did a good job too. I'm a little surprised by the swearing at the end. I wonder if they edited that in outside of Hillary's presence.

Not pneumonia, Parkinson's.

(Not that anyone can prove it, but you sure can't disprove it, can you? Huh? Got you there. I win the internet.... again!)

Does it really matter?

You've had Bush "I spew on world leaders for no reason" and Reagan "Who am I again?"

Things tend to still go alright.

I started thinking prez was just a figure head position years ago.

Can't do Jack without others sign off

You have no idea of US politics, do you? Just admit it and stay in threads you understand.

Now think of a guy like Trump who is used to getting his way put in that position: Don't you think he would use the bit of power he has to the max, just to prove to himself that he's the man?
Presidents have total power over the military since Congress abdicated its power on that.
And he has already said he would use executive orders left and right.
Plus, he can veto what he doesn't like.

Do you honestly think the people who actually have to sign it off would let Trump use nukes or anything equally stupid?

The president is the person who signs it off! Or are you buying into secret cabals in the shadows that actually make the decisions?

Yes. It has to go through the joint chiefs of staff and the Secretary of defence.

no, it doesn't. Maybe that's the ideal scenario, but not a necessary one.

The football contains an attack scenario and the number of the place to execute it. The biscuit has the verification code.
For the officers receiving the order to launch there is no way to tell whether the president reached the decision to launch after careful discussions with his generals or from the voices in his head: it's a lawful order following the chain of command and not to execute it could be considered treason.

But regardless, the mere fact that you think Trump as president would need some nannies to make sure he doesn't touch the red button already proves that you, too, don't thinks he's fit for the job.

Only if the Secretary of defence is dead.

Putting aside the fact if the military thought it would cause world war 3 they just wouldn't do it.

They are not stupid.

Hypothetical scenario.

Prez says go in and shoot all BLM protesters.

Are you saying they would do it?
