Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

It's not just the bankruptcies. There are plenty of other business failures this world class loser has left in his wake... Trump Airlines, Trump Steaks, Trump U, Trump Mortgage, Trump Vodka, GoTrump, etc.

DONALD TRUMP'S MANY BUSINESS FAILURES, EXPLAINED

Did you see the video on the right, with his testimony on the corruption in Indian casinos? Among the lunacy was his statement at the end, "Why do only Indians get reservations? Why are you discriminating?"

At that point, what is there to say?

No matter what, the Girls learned a valuable lesson - just don't tell Trump or he's going to charge them for it.

How many bankruptcies have actual SUCCESSFUL businessmen had? Mark Cuban? Warren Buffet? Steve Wynn?

I was looking up Ted Turner, figuring he'd had something, but couldn't find anything. Turner got bought out by AOL, but no sign that he ever declared bankruptcy.

Don't we define "successful businessman" as people who have had success? By definition, bankruptcy is not a sign of a successful businessman.

Buffett is pretty open about his "biggest mistake". Energy Future Holdings went bankrupt in 2014. He bought in 2007 and bailed before official bankruptcy, but he holds it up as a failure, not proof of business acumen.

Donald admits his secret plan to defeat ISIS was BS and that he doesn't know as much as the generals.

Why didn't anyone think of this before? He's also going to accomplish this and bringing Iran "to heel" without invading countries or occupying countries but still taking the oil. :boggled:

He's not even hiding his contempt for his supporters intelligence anymore.

A recently retired General wasn't impressed with his plan.

"I had to ask myself, what the hell does he think we've been trying to do for the last 14 years in terms of al Qaeda?" Retired Army Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling told Anderson Cooper on AC360 on Tuesday.

"It shows a complete lack of understanding of the threat and the ways to fight it," Hertling said. "It's a sophomoric approach to elements of national security policy because if he's just calling in the military, he's missing the point that there are several other elements of national security that will help defeat ISIS."

As for the letter signed by 88 retired military commanders, supporting Trump...

"I didn't recognize many of those names as being there in the fight with me over the last 16 years," Hertling said. "There aren't a whole lot of names in the fight against al Qaeda or several of the other forces."
He said most of the names on the list are Navy admirals who were not on the ground during the war against terror.

More poetry from the eloquent nominee.

And you know cyber is becoming so big today. It’s becoming something that number of years ago, short number of years ago, wasn’t even a word. And now the cyber is so big, and you know look at what they’re doing with the internet. How they’re taking recruiting people through the internet. And part of it is the psychology because so many people think they’re winning. And you know, there’s a whole big thing. Even today, psychology — where CNN came out with a big poll. Their big poll came out today that Trump is winning. It’s good psychology, you know. It’s good psychology.

Important to note that was his answer when asked how he would deal with cyber security threats to the US, like the hacking of a major political parties servers by a foreign power, otherwise known as behavior he encourages.

He knows nothing. Nothing. He is like a kid who didn't read the homework and was day dreaming when the teachers calls on him. He just starts regurgitating anything he can think of. The first part of his answer is to talk about the word "cyber" as if the person asking about cyber security was looking for a lesson in etymology, a lesson trump gets wrong by the way. He then pivots to ISIS because they use the internet to recruit so in trumps stumped brain that's the same thing as domestic cyber security so he rattles on about that trying to BS his way through. He concludes with his own poll numbers, a complete non sequitur.

How can any of his supporters argue that he is qualified to be commander and chief when he isn't qualified to take a pop quiz on national security?

It could, I think, rather more reasonably be argued that a torpedo boat captain who's never had a boat sunk lacks the required risk-taking ability than that a businessman who's never been declared bankrupt lacks the required risk-taking ability.

Dave

Of course! By current GOP standards Francesco Schettino is the best cruise ship captain and Captain Zaharie Shah should be flying air force one... if only we could find him.

I'd really like to see Clinton hammer him on this stuff in the debates. Just expose his total ignorance of how government actually works.

Again, my favorite example of just how clueless he is, when he proposed improving the infrastructure. He wanted something like a 4-fold increase in the infrastructure budget (maybe it was 2, maybe 4, doesn't matter). When asked where the money would come from to do that, his answer was, "People. Investors."

So who are these "investors" and what are they investing in? Bonds? (that's what we do now, and it's called "debt.") Or is he talking about turning everything into a for-profit toll road or toll bridge?

But even then, who is going to invest in the new sewar system that is needed? Is that going to turn into a for-profit venture, too? Is he talking about privatizing everything?

He is totally clueless about how government works. This is so mind-bogglingly dump it's not even funny.

Trump's answers tend to be really insulting to anyone with a brain. It's clear the general is insulted. Dealing with ISIS, Al Qaeda, Illegal Immigration, trade, racism or violence isn't simple and the morons that think that it is need to be smacked up side the head with the retort "MacFly, think think"

Too many of these people think that the answer is just to throw your weight around and act like a bully. But it's not. In fact, that tends to backfire. The person you're bullying digs in. Trump's supporters want an alpha male, but Trump is simply the alpha moron.

A far less charitable comment about the situation is that they desire a strongman leader because they, themselves, are not strong.
Hillary is a strong woman, anyone can see that. Does this mean you need a strong woman to dominate the wimpy men on the left?

Nobody cared about his failings -- except his victims -- when he was just a private jerk. Now that he's asking us to entrust all our lives to his judgment, we're looking a little closer. And what is your actual evidence that he's a successful businessman? All we have are his own claims. For at least 20 years, much of his income has been from licensing his name to numerous enterprises that he has nothing else to do with. Serious New York real estate investors call him a minor player, if that. And the properties he does own are often heavily mortgaged. What has he actually produced or accomplished except marketing himself?

Not many need evidence that he is successful, I'll point you to google so you don't waste my time, there is clearly nothing I can say to convince you the BILLIONAIRE has had success and obviously a lot of it.

So trump's plan for ISIS is to get elected and then do whatever the generals tell him to do. He isn't giving it any thought now, he isn't forming plans, he will just wait and see what the generals say? Well we can elect anyone to do that.

What if the generals say to stay the current course? I assume President Obama didn't formulate the current strategy all by himself and is forcing the military to execute it. The current strategy must be in part based on their best council. Defeating ISIS will take time but the current strategy is paying off bit by bit. ISIS is losing leaders, territory, and resources. They are becoming more desperate by the day. They have stopped telling recruits to come to them for training and instead telling them to just attack people where they are with anything handy. The current GOP would be complaining in the summer of '43 that the German hadn't been defeated and why isn't Japan being brought to heel!

How can anyone defend or support trump with any argument other than, "I hate Killary!" There is no rational argument to be made in support of a trump presidency.

Logger watched The Apprentice on TV so he knows it must be true.

You can roll your eyes as much as you like, I've never watched one episode fully. Sure I've seen bits of it, but only to hear him say you're fired.

I have tried to let him know that unlike Bush, he needs to fire all the people he can that were hold overs from Clinton, some of Bush and certainly Obama's admin.

Knowing how corrupt Killery is, that is actually a very rational argument. Trump respects the military very much, Hillary has proven many times her co-president and her "loath the military"

Is billionaire some kind of honorarium? Because it certainly doesn't refer to his financial status.

Trumps' biggest "success" was swimming to the right egg.
