Mother Terisa gets there at last

Although, as it notes:

Nevertheless, when Mother Teresa required palliative care, she received it in a modern American hospital.

More BS:

Mother Teresa returned to Calcutta in July 1997. At 9:30 PM, on 5 September, Mother Teresa died at the Motherhouse.

The Motherhouse was NOT in a modern American Hospital.

Ask yourself why the authors of the "study" chose to lie... reflect on it...

First World thinking. Teresa knew that there was suffering and always will be and did what she could to alleviate it, the contention that she did anything other than that is a fraud.

Perhaps you would be so kind as to give concrete examples of what she did to "alleviate (suffering)".

Perhaps you would be so kind as to explain the monetary cost of what she did to "alleviate (suffering)".

Perhaps you would be so kind as to explain where the rest of the money went.

Perhaps you would be so kind as to do so calmly and clearly.

I have already linked several articles in this very thread alone to explain the first.

Second, I have absolutely no idea what the monetary costs are of of supporting "over five thousand Missionary of Charity sisters, serving in 766 houses in 137 countries, and another 377 active brothers serving in sixty-eight houses in twenty-one countries. The Lay Missionaries of Charity, now twenty-five years old, are also growing, operating in fifty countries."

Third, .... "perhaps you would be so kind as to explain where the rest of the money went." The rest of the money. Huh. The rest of the money. That is what we "skeptics" call a loaded question/

Fourth, I certainly hope I have answered your loaded questions calmly and clearly. I mean not as calmly or coolly as that other guy did explaining that "at least Hitler and Stalin" had a plan, but one does what what can.

Thanks ever so much for participating.

Focusing on a sideshow rather than the substantive points? Check. Quoting without providing citations, despite railing against others who have done so? Check.

Yup, that's a post by The Big Dog, all right.

No, you haven't.

Either you do, or you do not. You oscillate between both. All those donations went to medical care. Really? Or they didn't. All those donations did happen or simultaneously never happened, Or whatever apologetic you deem to wheel out.

Third, .... "perhaps you would be so kind as to explain where the rest of the money went." The rest of the money. Huh. The rest of the money. That is what we "skeptics" call a loaded question/
Nope. We know where it went and how much it was. It remains unaccounted for. Explain that?

Fourth, I certainly hope I have answered your loaded questions calmly and clearly. I mean not as calmly or coolly as that other guy did explaining that "at least Hitler and Stalin" had a plan, but one does what what can.
No you have not. And please, stop attempting to Godwin the thread.

Thanks ever so much for participating.

Frankly, the only one not participating is you.

Perhaps you would be so kind as to explain why you think it appropriate to ignore the events surrounding her receiving care for her antemortem heart attack differing from the care she doled out to "alleviate (suffering)".

Perhaps you would be so kind as to explain why your ignoring those events is not "BS".

Perhaps you would do so clearly, and calmly.

Yup, that's a post by The Big Dog, all right.

It is odd what you consider to be a sideshow. I mean you quoted that blatantly wrong statement in your post for a purpose, right?

And when I went to that link you provided (wayback machine?) there was no citation to anything to support the laughably FALSE claim that she received palliative care in a modern US Hospital, that you put in your post for a reason.... Right?

Yet curiously you harangue me for not posting citations to public record facts (not quite water is wet stuff, but CLOSE).

How many citations do you want for where Saint Teresa died, SB?

Here is One:

http://www.catholic.org/clife/teresa/

You can find thousands of others on "google" which is available on the "internet."

Ignore what now? You mean the *********** laughably false lie of a ludicrous claim that she received "palliative" care in a modern US Hospital, when in fact she received it in her motherhouse in India where she was when she *********** died?

Y'all let me know if I am not explaining things *********** calmly and clearly, 'k?

I see. "Calmly and clearly" is not on the table. Fine.

I have already linked several articles in this very thread alone to explain the first.

Perhaps you, personally, would be so kind as to explain what your sources claim is the treatment she provided to "alleviate (suffering)".

Perhaps you would be so kind as to explain what this bit of red herring has to do with the actual things she did to "alleviate (suffering)". (Or, for that matter, what "...over five thousand Missionary of Charity sisters, serving in 766 houses in 137 countries, and another 377 active brothers serving in sixty-eight houses in twenty-one countries..." did, or do, to "alleviate (suffering)".)

Third, .... "perhaps you would be so kind as to explain where the rest of the money went." The rest of the money. Huh. The rest of the money. That is what we "skeptics" call a loaded question/

Perhaps you would explain if it is your contention that the money she (and her supproters) brag about raising was spent on palliative anodyne care, or upon someting else, to "alleviate (suffering)." If not perhaps you will allow that it is, in fact, a germane question.

Fourth, I certainly hope I have answered your loaded questions calmly and clearly. I mean not as calmly or coolly as that other guy did explaining that "at least Hitler and Stalin" had a plan, but one does what what can.

It is, in fact, you, who claim (without support) that the questions you avoided (rather than answering) were "loaded".

Perhaps you will explain how your combative attitude represents calm and clarity, or why you feel the need to Godwin (with red herrings, no less).

Thanks ever so much for participating.

You are, of course, most welcome.

Would that I could say the same, but I, for one, do not consider the casting of red herrings and the avoidance of actual, sincere questions, to be "participating".

See above...

Temper, temper...

Are you, personally, denying that the care she received for her antemortem heart attack was substantially different (in kind and degree) from that she doled out to "alleviate (suffering)"?

Do you, personally, hope that will make the question go away?

Answers, rather than evasions, would be refreshing.

Sure, right now. Your deity of choice must be so proud of the plethora of expletives which pepper your post. One must assume that you had a burning in your bosom as you typed.

In fact, I can recall patiently explaining to my kids the actual meaning of "suffer little children" nonsense that gets barfed around in catholic schools. The unspoken interpretation is that suffering is somehow a good thing. When I pointed out that the verb "suffer" is archaically synonymous with the modern "allow" the whole ball of nonsense took on a very different texture.

Which is even more obvious when it is more precisely quoted as "suffer the little children and forbid them not".

As in http://biblehub.com/matthew/19-14.htm

(...and do remember that "ya'll" is a plural...)

I'm sorry...It was my impression we were discussing "Mother Terisa" and the events surround her crossing the border to receive care in an American Hospital.

Are you denying that incident?

And, no, for the record, masked profanity (or vulgarity) does nto qualify for "calmly"; obfuscation does not qualify for "clearly".

Perhaps you would be so kind as to stay on topic, and answer the questions put to you.

yeah, you are wrong.

Perhaps you would be so kind as to drop the grossly disingenuous and patronizing tone.

Yup, still avoiding addressing the substantive points. And I wonder how you'd have responded to Hitchens had he said that anybody interested in confirming his quotes could google them? I wonder why him quoting things without attribution is plagiarism, whereas you doing so is not?

Very low actually.

First of all, MT had a habit to cajole property owners (whether public or private) to donate the real estate to her order, rather than to buy it as normal people and businesses do.

Second, the order also has the standing policy of begging bakers, groceries etc. to give them food rather than to pay for it. And when they don't get it, the nuns go hungry or they eat stale food.

Third, nuns are not paid a salary, and I bet a health plan is absent too (except for "pray to God").

But if you think otherwise, why don't you point us to the financial statements of the order? Every self-respecting charity I know of has a CPA auditing the books and publishes their financials, so that people can see that their money is well-spent. Or if you can't point us to it, why don't you ask next time you bring a donation to the missionary nearby where you live?

ETA: from an article in the German magazine Stern from 1998, translated into English:
England is one of the few countries where the sisters allow the authorities at least a quick glance at their accounts. Here the order took in DM5.3 million in 1991. And expenses (including charitable expenses)? — around DM360,000 or less than 7%. Whatever happened to the rest of the money? Sister Teresina, the head for England, defensively states, “Sorry we can’t tell you that.”

No I addressed the point in your post that you put in there for a reason, Right?

About palliative care, which as we just showed was false, and which not only contradicts whatever claim that you had that cause you to put it into your post in the first place (I mean you had a substantive reason... Right?) but also demonstrates that the article upon which you were relying is intellectual garbage.

When Hitchens plagiarized from the WaPo, google did not exist. Plus, Chris was SELLING his book, which is a bit different than having a conversation on a backwater message board where ridiculously simple to confirm facts like, where did Saint Teresa die.
