Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part IV

For many Republicans, running for office has become a job: if you look, you can always find a PAC to finance you for a few months, as long as you don't have any convictions of your own.

Haven't seen this mentioned yet (if it has, my apologies)...

Trumps Twitter feed has gotten him into a bit of trouble again:

https://www.thestar.com/news/world/...on-fatal-shooting-of-dwyane-wades-cousin.html
Donald Trump’s tweet on the shooting death of NBA basketball star Dwyane Wade’s cousin drew scorn and outrage for not including condolences for her death and for misspelling Wade’s first name. On Saturday, Trump tweeted: “Dwayne Wade’s cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!”

He thinks the voters are pretty well locked in and that Hillary has a much higher probability of winning than Nate Silver is coming up with (using his polls-plus forecast, which is at 25% last I checked).

73.5% as of this posting, actually...

No, the author was fairly clear. Places where exports are produced should favor Trump's policy regarding trade deals (because, if Trump could pull it off, exports would increase relative to imports).

The error is not the author's, but certain readers'.
The author's errors are rather obvious. Any extra exports will not necessarily be more of what's already exported, nor will they necessarily be produced in the same places.

Also, exports could also increase relative to imports (which is to say, the trade deficit could be reduced) if exports fall but imports fall further. If tariffs mean Walmart sources more from local manufacturers it's no benefit to, for instance, Boeing. They're not set up for the "pile it high, sell it cheap" market.

In fact I already read a very ironic item published by a Chinese media group, a domestic (in China) group. They mentioned the U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump telling Americans that he will "bring American jobs back from overseas." But most of the jobs, the Chinese journalist wrote, are low-skill manufacturing jobs. Why do the Americans want them?
Because that's what they had when America was great and they want things to be like they were again. Before Elvis got fat and everything started going downhill.

So WTF is Donald doing in Washington? Is that one of the secret states he is going to turn red?

This is maybe a derail, and worthy of a thread on its own, but how long do downstream campaigns last?

The presidential campaign has now been going for a full year, with 2 months to go, and all those hopefuls have been on the road 24/7 campaigning all that time. At least, I got the impression that Sanders, Cruz and Rubio have been neglecting their senatorial duties in the meantime, and Christie and Kasich their gubernatorial duties.

But how do all those Senators and Reps do that who want to be re-elected? They also have primaries they have to campaign for and then in November the actual election. Senators at least have the luxury of being elected for 6 years, but a Rep has to go up for (re)election every two years.

Is Congress half-empty during election season?

Congress is on recess right now. I think it goes back into session at the beginning of September for like a month (though I'm sure they won't do anything) and then they will go on to recess again until after the election.

So Hillary's top aid Huma Abedin is married to Anthony Weiner who was caught recently for a sexting scandal for the third time. She is leaving him.

This is what Donald has to say.

Nothing like destroying your outreach to white suburbanite female voters in one act. The tone deafness of forgetting your previous campaign manager was an under the table Russian lobbyist while attacking the estranged spouse of a Clinton employee as a security risk is peak Donald for it's potential to backfire.

Doesn't Trump understand the concept of reaching out beyond his base of white men? I really can't wait to read the exit polling on this election to see if Trump reaches a new low with women voters.

Vote for Donald Trump and David Duke!
