Navies looking for Atlantis

Oh FFS!!!!

Let's be clear here - if you want to find out what's on the bottom of the ocean, you send a Hydrographic Survey ship.

After that, if you want to have a look at a specific anomaly that you've identified, then, and only then, do ROVs equipped with cameras get deployed.

ROVs are inherently useless at surveying - the field of view is far too narrow and their speed of coverage is slow.

HEY, hey what's all this logical thinking and reasoning for? This is a Bubba!...right okay got you in the right frame of mind.... this thread is for talking nonsense and hummming the twilight zone theme - backwards.

That was already clear in post 21, in case it was overlooked

....cameras.

On ROVs....from non ordinary subs focusing on selected smaller targeted areas.

You know what, just listen to the Light Of September for free on iTunes. It isn't real, but has research ships, strange discoveries, and Sylvester Mccoy being really sweaty. But between this thread and the Raiders thread, what I am thinking is that it will be much more your thing than the genuine archeaology and history, that a lot of people find interesting but just doesn't seem to be close enough to the fictions that inspire these threads.

Historical interpretations of Atlantis are cool, but they just aren't Indiana Jones enough for what this thread seems to be gunning for...

You saw this anchor?

Yes I did as I was the S-4 of the receiving Battalion. However I could find no on-line evidence that this happened in 1979.

However I find that the same thing (or very similar) happened in 1985:

I see no indication that this was an April 1st publication.

You had eyes on it?
If you didn't hsve eyes on it I don’t believe it.
If you did then nice story.

The true story* is that the Women's Atlantis Verifiable Ecology Squad was a large group of women who were given ships to go out into the entire world and test the ability of the planet to continue with technological advancements without destroying the planet.

Since there was nothing productive left to due to advancements in machines, more and more women and more and more ships were dedicated to this purpose. Then one day, for reasons lost in history, they were all called home at the same time.

Alas, the total weight of all the women arriving at the same time and decanting onto the mainland was so much, that they sunk the Island, and Atlantic sank beneath the W.A.V.E.S.

Secret operations are going down in Atlantis. Can't tell more, since it's classified (stupid lizard-penguins..)..

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Its on page 1092 of your Illuminatti employee's 'handbook', under the Term W.A.V.E.S For some unknown reason its not included under the term "Atlantis" (even though the resort price discounts for Illuminatti are. Who decides what details are listed in what section? :boggled:).

They have a handbook? :jaw-dropp

Note to self: "Ask Patrick Stewart about Illuminatti handbook and free coffee at Starbucks..."

<<sigh>>
Human and ET Services is supposed to make sure everyone has a copy of the 7911 page ironically named "handbook" by now.

I'm going to be in Denver next month, I'll go light a fire under them.

However, yes, next time you see the Most Magnificent Master, definately raise both matters with him.

7911 pages? He's going to need more than just the first supplement. Get thrm to send all five of the main volumes and the first seven supplements to be going on with.

If you get it on the standard grey three-hole punch NSN rack it fits in the footprint of only 6 standard office cubicles, once you get the entire cubicles out of the way. But check with engineering for floor point load restrictions. In one undisclosed location I read about they had to fill an office underneath the entire unabridged edition with truss work to support the floor.

Meanwhile, back on topic, I have not deployed my personal Navy to looking for Atlantis. I have them working toward colonizing the moons of Mars. We've done a non-landing flyby of Deimos to verify that unmodified COTS (commercial, off the shelf) equipment can be controlled to that distance and I've built the ballistic launcher to deliver terraforming and colonist resource packages. What with budget for science being what it is, I've found the Navy equipment available at Target for $29.99 to be barely adequate but sufficient to use as the technology core to build the colony transport ship.
