What happened to convention bounce 4 Dems?

THe nasty thing for the GOP about states like Arizona and Georgia going Purple is that now they will have to pull resources from the traditional purple states like Ohio and FLorida to hold states they should not have to really fight for. The Dems,on the other hand, don't need to win Georiga and Arizone (though they would love to) and just need to put in enough resources to keep them competive, and not have to take resources away from the traditional Purple states.

Hillary is opening offices in Phoenix and Tucson tomorrow. If Donald has offices in Arizona, I bet they aren't really doing anything.

Suspending ads in VA and CO in favor of putting money into Arizona is openly trying to not just win but to run up the score.

The better the Dem's do in the presidential race in a state, the more likely they are to also win the senate race there. So its not meaningless.

In Arizona, it might be about winning McCain's seat and changing the political landscape. Imagine Trump having to make campaign stops in Phoenix and Tucson. The relationship between Trump and McCain is bad. It also means the media will focus on that when Trump is there.

I am surprised she does not have one in Phoenix.....I think, just for the sake of appreances, you have at least one office in every state. Even if it just a symbolic one person in a rented room.

To take a example from Arizona history...it would be like having the Earps and the Clantons appear together on stage....

Even more fun, if you look at the polling, with Georgia and Arizona coming into play, other States are dropping too. Texas is now under 4 points to Trump and has been dropping as Hillary climbs there. Could it be that Texas comes into play if things don't change for the Donald?

What's going to really make my heart sing is when the next local polls come out and Ryan, Ayotte and McCain all go down because Trump support is the kiss of death. :p I've mentioned it before but it was certainly a sight to see, him sucking up to Rubio's supporters in FL. Rubio also skipped the convention, gave one statement a while back that he was supporting the party candidate, and has not exactly been out there with Newt and Rudy leading the charge.

These candidates don't need Trump. Trump needs these candidates. Priebus is just pushing for the appearance of unity. I think this is a calculated move on Donald's part. He thought he had NH in play, early on they thought because of the dissent-vote they would make inroads in Wisconsin, and they absolutely have to take Arizona. Donald won't admit it, but he's trying to get some "normal dust" onto his campaign, not infect them with "crazy dust".

Well its more than that. Hardly any establishment Republican really wants Trump as President. If you could actually get McCain aside and ask him if he preferred Trump or Hillary to be the next President, he'd laugh and say Hillary. Not because he's crazy about Hillary or any Democrat winning the Presidency, but because Trump is batcrap crazy.

But a large portion of the Republican party voted for Trump and he doesn't want those voters to turn on him. And the Democrats are hammering home to all the swing voters that Republican leaders need to choose party or country. It's a beautiful divide and conquer strategy. They want to make it clear that Republicans running must choose. Align themselves with Trump or align themselves with the nation. Either way, its the devil or the deep blue sea. It's amusing watching all these experienced politicians attempt to walk the yellow line of a very busy highway. Most are saying they support the Republican nominee trying desperately not even wanting to say the name Trump. Most would rather attend the funeral of a loved one than stand on a stage with the Crazy Cheeto. Many are refusing to answer any questions about Trump.

But Trump needs them and his campaign wants full throated enthusiastic support and Democratic opponents want them to make a stand too. That way they can run against the Orange Cheeto too. The whole situation makes me almost giddy.

Just saw a Hillary ad here in Arizona. First one I've seen on network TV (the Olympics), seen some on cable news before. It was about her job plan.

Hillary up 8 points in WaPo/ABC poll. And she has increased her favorables to 48/50. While Donald's are a terrible 34/63. Sad!

Here's a hidden truth in that polling: voters prefer experience over an outsider, 58-39. That runs in the face of the voters want an outsider to shake things up narrative the media has been pushing. This polling company has an A+ rating from FiveThirtyEight as well.

538 (polls only) currently has it at 83.4% - 16.5% (about 5:1) with Arizona blue.

Also Georgia is close, I suspect both Georgia and Arizona could currently go either way as it would be within the margin of error.
