So, Fox News vs Gretchen Carlson

Melania Trump like you’ve never seen her before

Donald Trump thinks his wife will be a model first lady — and here’s the proof.

Decades before she was sporting designer dresses on the stage of the Republican National Convention as Mrs. Trump, Melania Knauss posed nude in a photo spread for a now-defunct French men’s magazine, The Post has learned.

The leggy, Slovenian-born model — then 25 years old and known by her professional moniker Melania K. — did the steamy photo session in Manhattan in 1995, according to Alé de Basse*ville, the French photographer who shot the sexy snaps.

The images, some rarely seen and others never published, were obtained exclusively by The Post.

The bombshell photos show Melania wearing nothing but high heels and pouting for the camera, in a series of images shot from the front, the back and the side.

“Melania was super-great and a fantastic personality and she was very kind with me,” de Basseville told The Post, adding the former model never once felt uncomfortable posing for the nude pictures.

Melania’s sexy photo spread appeared in the January 1996 issue of Max, a French men’s magazine that went out of business in 2006.

“I was quite surprised when I saw the pictures because it was . . . a racier shoot than I expected,” said a fashion-industry insider who was present for one of the photo sessions.

“But Melania seemed very comfortable with the whole thing, and she was very professional.”

For de Basseville, the inspiration for the pictures was the Renaissance and a celebration of the female body.

“I think it is important to show the beauty and the freedom of the woman, and I am very proud of these pictures because they celebrate Melania’s beauty,” he said.

At the time of the shoot, Melania had just recently arrived in New York City from modeling stints in Paris and Milan, Italy.

In Gotham she was booked for mostly commercial work and was later featured in an ad for Camel cigarettes, the source said.

When asked about the photos, Trump told The Post: “Melania was one of the most successful models and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines. This was a picture taken for a European magazine prior to my knowing Melania. In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common.”

Odd that a Fox-owned newspaper would publish these. I thought they supported Trump.

...

And? Exhibiting your own sexism, or what is the point? I'm not offended at all by female nudity, but I think using it casually and off-topic in a thread about sexual harassment is insensitive to the point of functional leprosy.

I suspect Murdoch's kids ran those pictures to spite Trump for defending Ailes.

It's not odd at all. They're just following Trump's lead as his words and actions have always demonstrated that he believes most of a woman's worth is based on how she looks.

. . .

BTW, clicking that link is probably NSFW.

As to your last bit, Fox News hasn't always been a big supporter of Trump, he even boycotted one of their debates because he thought that Megyn Kelly was being unfair to him.

That being said, this story is not going to hurt Trump in my opinion. It's just photos of his wife naked. And she's hot, too.

Roger Ailes Used Fox News Budget to Finance ‘Black Room’ Campaigns Against His Enemies

But with Ailes gone, Fox executives are now looking closely at how Ailes spent Fox money. And what they are discovering is that, beyond the sexual-harassment claims, Ailes was also able to use portions of the Fox budget to hire consultants, political operatives, and private detectives who reported only to him, according to a senior Fox source.

According to one highly placed source, Solivan worked out of what Fox insiders called “the Black Room,” an operation Ailes established around 2011 to conduct PR and surveillance campaigns against people he targeted, both inside and outside the company.

Just when you think Ailes couldn't be any sleazier....

More personalities named in Andrea Tantaros' suit.

In the lawsuit, Tantaros’s attorney Judd Burstein describes Fox News as a “a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency, and misogyny” and describes Ailes as a “sexual predator” who “did not act alone.” Tantaros alleges Ailes retaliated against her for rebuffing his advances by removing her from The Five and ordering the Fox News media relations department to turn against her.

Fox News says the network does not comment on pending litigation. A source with knowledge of the legal proceedings told BuzzFeed News earlier in August that Tantaros was removed from Fox News air over a contract dispute involving her book.

The lawsuit names several men who Tantaros claims made unwanted sexual comments or advances toward her, including O’Reilly, Brown, Fox News correspondent John Roberts, on-air guest Ben Collins, and actor Dean Cain. None of these men, however, are named as defendants in the case.

I should point out that Dean Cain is not alleged to have done anything wrong. He hugged her on set once and someone took a picture and then tried to sell the idea that she was seducing him or something like that as retaliation for her insolence.

Carlson and Fox settle for 20mil and a public apology.

http://www.cnbc.com/2016/09/06/fox-...-and-is-expected-to-offer-apology-report.html

The instant analysis on it I've seen is that to settle this early for this much Fox must have really not wanted to get to the discovery phase.

They paid Ailes $40 million to go away. It seems wrong for Carlson to get half that but it's her choice. Given Ailes character and how victims of sexual crimes are attacked by the defense having this play in the news would probably be a nightmare.

And now Greta van Susteran has quit.

Could it be because the settlement made her look like a fool trying to defend Ailes? Or that it wouldn't back her in her defense of him?

Or is it because they gave Carlson $20 mil and won't pony up to pay her enough?

I'd say the settlement combined with the New York Magazine article linked above should be enough to make anybody want to jump ship, especially given that the Murdoch clan hasn't bothered yet to clean out the rest of the cesspool of upper management that Ailes created.

That, plus the fact that the new management is probably trying to clear house of all Ailes' sycophants, and she saw the writing on the wall. I suspect/hope O'Reilly will be announcing his retirement soon, and shortly thereafter (if the gods are kind) Hannity will get the Glenn Beck treatment.

One thing I'm fairly sure of is that sunmaster won't be commenting further. ;)
