I think we might have to just rename the Rule of So the Rule of Tony Stark, because you go through more straw man in a single thread than the rest of the forum put together.

Did I say that Bernie was "pure and just" Tony? No of course not.

LOL!
So Bernie isn't pure and just and shouldn't have been the nominee?

Weren't you pretending to be a supporter if his not too long ago?

Well that hope has gone out of the window:

Says a lot about a certain element of his supporters, spoiled children. If they can't have what they want they will ruin things for everyone.

What total morons. Where were these people at Donald's hate festival?

Well, this isn't about politics, it's got more in common with the lunatic DC/Marvel fanboys. These people are Bernie 'fans' so everyone else's favourite sucks. if you think of them as a 'fandom' their behaviour makes much more sense, relatively speaking.

Well they'd have to go to Cleveland to protest Donald and that's a hard sell compared to Philly plus we're in Philly it's not a proper protest until batteries, probably D cells, are being thrown. They also get more far left cred being arrested protesting the DNC and Hillary.

There's still months until the vote, and I think by then the Bernie supporters will have had time to lick their wounds, grok the seriousness of the vote, and vote Clinton. The polls as we near will bear that out.

So still, even with all the mess, I am still seeing this as a Clinton presidency from the moment she entered the race.

So that explains why the shillaries have continually hand waved away her obvious contempt for the rule of law and her lies.

So the FBI couldn't prove that she broke the law. Yeah I know, you know more about the law than the FBI (lol).

ETA, rule of so. LOL

My local news is reporting Trump up 5% now on Clinton, due to Independents who were swung by the RNC convention. I don't think most of that convention swung them: it was Trump's well-prepared and delivered speech at the closing.

For Clinton to recover, it is critical that she her speech trumps Trump's.
A couple ways she can blow it:

1) Try to be all smiley or snarky. (She needs to be presidential and serious)
2) Lie (and get pounded for it in the media and comedy follow-ups).
3) Spend TOO much time on Trump fails (some is great; but more substance please)

If she can hold it together, and the background of the convention isn't as hateful as the RNC's was, I think the polls will show Independents back-swinging next week.

I doubt Hillary herself will spend much time at all bashing Trump. Expect Warren, Sanders, Biden and Kaine to do that. They will bash him about like a Pinata

President Obama too. Though he probably won't even say his name.

We don't need to hand wave away things that only exist in your imagination.

I just love certain posters pretending to be liberals and progressives on a non-stop Hillary bash a thon. Especially following the most racist, most divisive most insane RNC in a minimum of 70 years.

I'm left thinking two things.

1.Either they are beyond stupid

or

2. They were never really progressives

I'm 100 percent that the two cut and pasting every negative article about HRC...(We all know who they are) are not and have never been actually progressive or liberal. They are just posers. Its unimaginable that a real liberal faced with the possibility of a Trump Pence administration wouldn't be front and center opposing that opposed to HRC even with her flaws.
To be fair, there is a small faction of Sanders' supporters still clinging to the dream.

I predict very boring speech. Fear sells. Being sane and reasonable doesn't.

Actually, it's surprisingly not boring. There's been a lot of anti-discrimination cheerleading. Most of the booing by Sanders supporters happened in the pre-convention speeches.

Right now we have Jason Collins (out NBA player) talking about LGBT rights. There were a couple of elected officials talking about coming here as undocumented immigrants.

The article utterly fails to make it clear, but my reading is that this applies only to 2020 (and beyond, until they change it again), not 2016.
It's moot. If they applied it this year, Clinton would still win. I think by giving a lead time, states have time to bring their state organizations up to grade.

I just wish they would have gotten rid of caucuses at the same time. I guess we'll need to lobby state by state.

Hopefully they will heed Kerry's warning and leave the air conditioning off in the convention center for the next four days. Doing this in the middle of a heat wave will show the world the Democrats really practice what they preach and aren't just pandering to their environmentalist wacko wing.

What's with your air conditioning fixation? That's not the major thing that impacts global warming.

Substitute chair is being booed every time she mentions Kaine.

Yeah but it's been drowned out by cheering. They also booed a bit during the invocation but a whole rash of speakers on very liberal causes has pretty much taken the wind out of their sails.
