I expect this is all theater. Cruz can beat his chest in front of his constituents. Trump will apologize for his disparaging of Cruz's family (maybe tonight), making a show of his humanity and compassion and family values and reasonableness. Cruz will accept the apology and give Trump his endorsement. And the Cruz folks will fall in line.

I just read the politico link, So I agree that he's not going to attempt to mend fences. But this is really really really stupid. He disarms Cruz by being magnanimous. He has nothing to gain by being a jerk at this point. So why the hell do it?

Cruz's supporters are the evangelical right. Why alienate them?

It wouldn't surprise me that she is smart, but I haven't heard enough from her to make that call.

I think she's hardheaded and Donald likes that. She's not really standing by her man, which I think is a good sign.

Decades ago I heard an anecdote about Ivanna Trump skiing backwards down a mountain while wagging a finger in Donald's face as she kept up a verbal barrage. It actually increased my opinion of Donald. I think that within certain limits he likes having clever wives.

He not only says Trump is a dangerous candidate, but that he is intellectually deficient. What's particularly great is that doesn't just claim this but offers objective criteria for reaching that conclusion. I highly recommend it.

BIg question right now in Cleveland is probably will Donald walk back his statement about NATO, which has blown up bigtime in his face, with even a few of his GOP supporters distantcing themselves from Donald Statement, or doing the whole "He did not really mean what he said" routine.

On the road to the election, there have been very few mileposts in which Trump did not stop and go out of his way to insult, mock, or otherwise alienate other Republicans, groups of Republicans, individual reporters, and entire media staffs. It's his nature. His repeated and unchanging inability to see that alienating people will hurt him in the long run strikes me as a symptom of some sort of mental disorder. But I have no medical training, so I would gladly surrender my position if a doctor dismisses my assertion.

Is CSPAN cable? I grew up with it on a teens channel. They cover it without commentary. Inc last night an hour of Rep Delegates dancing to the house music. Sweet Caroline was the last before the convention actually started up.
