It's almost certain he's looking for a job. Does he have a chance in hell of being reelected in NJ after trafficgate? Universally, city people despise being stuck in traffic. It's not like only Democrats were on the bridge that day.

Not to mention, is he in the clear yet? He's got his own indictment problems and no room to talk about Clinton's non-indictable email kerfuffle.

There was a nonsensical mention of 20K pages of regulations for [I missed the reference] small business by Donnie Jr. Given I work with regulations and compliance in the health care field, I don't believe that hyperbole for a minute. But you can bet people who buy this claptrap do.

He is hated in New Jersey. And term limited anyway. His only chance to salvage his career is if Trump wins and appoints him Attorney General or something. Though I'm not sure he could get confirmed.

Even if the average voter were too ignorant to select the best candidate, I would not abolish universal sufferage.

I disagree that I am dodging. If the system is so limiting that only two parties have a chance to win the presidency then it is irrelevant as to whether the population is political morons or political geniuses.

I suppose I could be satisfied with something more European: people vote for a party and its platform and the party then votes for the leader.

Don Trump Jr.'s speech was written by a speechwriter who used some of his past material in the speech. You can argue whether that's the height of speechwriting, but there's nothing unethical about it — it would be a very weird standard to argue that writers couldn't take a line they were proud of writing in a small-circulation policy magazine and let a political figure they like use it in a major national speech.
