Bullish on Bernie: The Bernie Sanders 2016 Thread II

None of you thought we would get this far. None of you think we are going to get further. I've said it before; Hear me now, believe me later.
That's what Sanders repeats as a talking point. I don't think it applies to people in this forum and it definitely doesn't apply to me.

Apparently, mainstream news outlets WSJ and MSNBC are noting that the news coverage for Sanders has been decidedly less extensive or laudatory than their coverage of Clinton.

Clip of MSNBC morning news program discussing Wall Street Journal editorial on Sanders.

They bring up an interesting point, with the large margins that Sanders has been winning by in the recent primaries; the most commonly asked question in interviews is "Are you doing to support Hillary when she wins the primary?" Almost like they know that the fix is in, regardless of the outcome of the upcoming primaries; or they are actively trying to enforce that outcome.

"Bernie Sanders has officially won Wyoming in a blowout, meaning the Vermont senator has now won 8 of the last 9 contests.

"The Wyoming caucus marks the 17th victory for Sanders in the Democratic presidential primary, while Hillary Clinton has won 18 primaries and caucuses.

"Clinton and Sanders will meet next Thursday for a debate in Brooklyn, where Sanders grew up and where Clinton’s campaign headquarters is located. Following the debate, Sanders will travel to the Vatican to discuss economic justice and environmental sustainability with Pope Francis. Hillary Clinton will hold a fundraiser in Hong Kong with Gary Gensler, a former Goldman Sachs partner who serves as her campaign’s Chief Financial Officer."

11% So much for the blowout. And whoops, there goes Sanders' 1 delegate advancement.

There are 18 delegates and so far 7 and 7 were applied to each. Not sure what happens to the other 4.

Of course Chris Matthews can't hide his anti-Clinton POV. His show was asking all the guests, "It's over for Clinton when whoops-if Sanders wins in NY. Matthews makes a point of noting they can both claim NY as a home state.

No mention that she is well ahead in the polls.

For all the people in this thread that claim the press is giving Sanders a raw deal, no it's not. Just watch Matthews and keep the channel tuned to MSNBC. They are very pro-Sanders most of the time, with very few exceptions.

I think there were 14 pledged delegates and 4 supers. Sanders won 7 pledged, Clinton won 6, and 1 hasn't been assigned yet.

Sadly, according to Silver's expanded delegate count, Sanders is underperforming. Sanders needed 50 in WI, but only got 48. Sanders needed 11 in WY, but only got 7. This just ups the delegate numbers Sanders needs from States that he has been polling badly in.

Eta: in updated numbers, Clinton won the last delegate, making WY a 7-7 tie, and all 4 supers appear to have endorsed Clinton, making the WY numbers Clinton 11, Sanders 7. Tough loss for Sanders.

I dunno, the LA Times graphic changed the 6 to a 7 for Clinton when she won the last precinct to report.

His target was 9, and Clinton's was 5. They exclude the superdelegates in this. But you're right of course, another underperformed win.
